Colorado Book Blogger Month-This is Colorado Life

As some of you may know March is Colorado Book Month!  This is a month where authors and bloggers in the area get together to celebrate the book community here.

Today I am participating in This Colorado Life , where we discuss different topics about this fun state!

Today's topic is: What’s your favorite mountain town? Do you visit for fun, inspiration, nature or something else?

I don't go up to the Mountain Towns often so when I do it is a big deal.  I really enjoy Breckenridge, CO.  I have gone tubing there, and snowboarding of course.  I have also been to a really fun snow sculpture festival there which was really a lot of fun.   I love Estes Park too.  As some of you may know, the Stanley Hotel is there which is the hotel that the Shining novel by Stephen King is based off of.  We stayed at that hotel and it was a blast.  They have ghost tours and everything!   You can read all about my adventures there here in my Stephen King Fans group on goodreads!

Also here are some pictures from my Shining adventure:

This is the old working elevator!

Have you ever been to Colorado?  What did you enjoy in the Mountains?

Tomorrow there will be a twitter chat with Colorado bookies 9am – 10am MST is our first Twitter party! Use hashtag #COBookMonth and join us.

  1. Love Colorado. I have friends in Denver but don't get up there very often, eventhough it's a short flight, and not to long of a drive.

  2. I love Estes and the Stanley! My hubby surprised me with a birthday trip up there two years ago. I got a kick out of reading The Shining, while watching The Shining in the hotel. And of course we did the ghost tour! You couldn't have paid me enough to have to go through that tunnel to get back to the staff housing. Nope.

  3. Oh the Stanley Hotel, the amount of times I've seen it, driven by it, flew through town and never actually stepped foot in it is criminal. One of these days I want to stay there!

Thanks for rocking the #COBookMonth with us! Otherwhere.co

  4. Thanks for taking part in This Colorado Life and #COBookMonth!

I love the Stanley! My hubby and I *almost* got married there :). Our groomsmen said they'd change REDRUM though, LOL. We walked around inside most of the building but didn't have time for the tour, which means we HAVE to go back. Great pick!

    1. It really is fun. We didn't make reservations early enough to stay in King's room but I still got pictures in front of it. I saw a wedding while I was there, they were getting pictures out front. it was beautiful!

  7. Okay, so my cousins, aunt, and uncle live in Boulder and I am OBSESSED with that city! I want SOO SO bad to live there. It is, like, the ultimate city. I love the Stanley Hotel and got a cool coin for its anniversary about 4 years ago. My grandpa and I were walking around the lobbies and we kind of hitched onto a tour group of haunted stuff. I really love haunted stuff and ghosts when it's not an obvious, stupid hoax, and so that hotel was so fun to be in. I still remember it really well. I remember this really cool room we went in on the bottom floor, and the cool cars, and I remember that elevator! <3 Colorado!!!
