Waiting on Wednesday- Awaken by Meg Cabot

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, where we have the chance to share what upcoming releases we are on the edge of our seats in anticipation for.

I have enjoyed reading the Abandon series by Meg Cabot and look forward to reading the third book Awaken.  It comes out on July 1st.. perfect for summer reading.  Awaken will be the final book and we'll get to see what happens with Pierce and John. Here is the description:

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Meg Cabot, the dark reimagining of the Persephone myth comes to a thrilling conclusion.
Death has her in his clutches. She doesn't want him to let go.
Seventeen-year-old Pierce Oliviera knew by accepting the love of John Hayden, she'd be forced to live forever in the one place she's always dreaded most: the Underworld. The sacrifice seemed worth it, though, because it meant she could be with the boy she loves.
But now her happiness -- and safety -- are threatened, all because the Furies have discovered that John has broken one of their strictest rules: He revived a human soul.
If the balance between life and death isn't fixed, both the Underworld and Pierce's home back on earth will be wiped away. But there's only one way to restore order. Someone has to die.

Can't wait!

  2. I love Meg Cabot, but I've really struggled with the second book of this series. I don't know why. I definitely want to know how it ends and that cover is so pretty. Great pick!

    1. I love the covers too. I will say that the second book kind of had middle of the series syndrome. So I am hoping book three ends the series well.

    1. I didn't see it on netgalley! I don't check there as often as I used to though since I don't read as much as everyone else.
