The Lego Movie - Review

So if you follow my blog then you know I love Superheroes and I love Lego Video Games.  So when I first heard about this movie I knew I had to see it! So worth my time.  Hilarious and a great story.  If you are leery about going because it's Legos please get past this and go!  I know a lot of people do this when it comes to Legos or kids movies.  This has a lot of humor for kids and adults.

The movie is about a "normal" Lego who is a construction worker and just is reall average.  He stumbles upon an adventure where he is destined to be special.  This adventure includes some really fun Lego characters .. Batman is the best too.  He is starting more and more to be my favorite male superhero.  Even Dumbledore and Gandalf make an appearance. We get a look at some different Lego lands ... I especially love the land with Dragons.  There is even a Unicorn Cat!!

The good thing about the film being Legos is that it gives the film a unique look.  If you have played the games then you probably already have a feel for the look.  I love it!  I like that the movie has a positive message that should make you feel inspired.  Plus there is a cool song "Everything is Awesome"  A+

  1. This was such a fun movie. Plus, with Batman, Star Wars, and LOTR all in one show, there was no way I wouldn't enjoy it!

  2. I haven't taken my kids to see this movie yet, but it sounds really fun. I'm not much of a theater person, but I'll make sure to watch it with the kiddos once it's out of theaters. :)

  3. Haha this is awesome! I've seen a preview for it and seems like every time they show it, there's something different in it. Glad you loved it and I can't wait to see it!

I took my son on Friday and we saw it in 3d and loved it. He is a lego fan so he was excited it came out

  5. Again, I know this would be epic to see, but I just can't get over the talking Legos thing. I want a movie where they just make noises and point to stuff.

  6. I'm glad you liked it! I don't really know the different Lego video games or sets or anything but I thought the movie looked cool. Would you say it's a kids movie, or more geared toward adults?

  7. I really want to see this movie. We are going to take my 4 year old son to see this when it hits the 1$ show. So glad you like this and that is is just as fun for adults. I love the games too and can't wait to see this too.

  8. This sounds like fun! I admit I am still a bit weary about watching this and I am still a teenager! I don't know--I just find no interest over watching it…

But I saw the commercial on TV one time and it was pretty hilarious they were saying like to the invisible car! And then it gets blown up and then Wonder Woman is like to the invisible aircraft! And then that gets blown up. XD

  10. It is totally worth your time. Really fun and I laughed the whole time. You might even be able to get a deal at first showing of the day. We try to do that sometimes since our theater really discounts those showings.

  11. If you like pop culture and geeky references... and really just a story about becoming bigger then you are then this is perfect. I mean... just so funny. I knew I had to see it!!! It was so fun and sweet I probably should've saved it for a Valentine's Day date.

  12. DO IT! I wasn't sure if it was going to be great. I saw The Nut Job recently with my cousin and didn't enjoy that one at all. But this movie is wonderful!!

  13. LOL!! YES TALKING LEGOS!!! I will say though that it is worth it. Because like you... they should NOT talk in the video games. It is way more funny if they just make funny faces and noises. I do miss those days in the games.

  14. I think it is probably going to be a successful movie so I look forward to seeing more of them in the future.

  15. Actually... I think it's for both kids and adults. I don't have any kids but liked it so much. I also don't know much about the sets of legos. I really am not a builder. Sometimes though when I am in the mall I will pop into the lego store and see what new things they have. I don't think you need to know about the video games or the lego sets to enjoy this movie.

  16. Oh yea... your son will probably love it. We went to a matinee and non-3D to make it a little cheaper. It is so expensive to go to the movies anymore.

  17. I love legos... and I so want to see this movie. I am going to have to borrow a little brother and go :)

  18. Yes!! That part of the movie is so funny. Superman and Green Lantern are in it and they are funny too. I admit sometimes it can seem childish to like legos but believe me it is worth going to see. Such fun!!!

I really, really want to see this movie, and I don't have kids. I've heard only amazing comments about it (I did skip your review until after I read it so I'd be surprised.) Can't wait.

  20. You have to check it out!!! Even if there is no little brother ... sometimes I go to movies alone just because I don't know anyone who wants to go with me!!

  21. I don't have kids either... but that's never stopped me from doing things that are considered just for kids!!! My review doesn't have any spoilers ... I always mark them. But I can understand not wanting to know anything about a book/movie before you start watching/reading it. I really can't stand spoilers!!

  22. Cool!! I actually didn't realize that. Makes the movie even more awesome then in my view!
