Sunday Post

Saturday, April 12, 2014
Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves.

This week was a good week.  Not only was I able to get tickets to the San Diego Comic Con.. but I also got a hotel room.  Both of those are pretty hard to get.

On the blog:
-I watched and loved Captain America Winter Solider!
-Top Ten Unique Book Packaging
-I review the Infinite by Jodi Meadows (loved this series).
-I do another Comic Adventure Issue.. this time talking about the Manga Chi, The Dark Tower (Stephen King comic), Batgirl, and Suicide Squad.

Around the blogospere:
- Blog Notes Project looks really fun.  You can stop by and sign up.  You will be assigned another blogger's blog will also has singed up.  You will go to that person's blog and look around and write what you love about their blog and the same will be done about your blog! Fun!
-Second Run Reviews talks about Strange Logic for Traveling with an e-reader.
-Rachel Turns Pages did an entire month on Rapunzel!!  Did you miss it? If so hop over to her blog and check it out.
-Alison Can Read asks you what Summer Book Camp would you want to go to??
- I have been loving watching the show Cosmos.  Bookish Whimsey talks about what she has learned from the book by Carl Sagan
- I really enjoyed this post by Book Blog Bake about blogger burn out.  We see a lot of posts about that.  Even sometimes I feel it... this post here asks you 21 questions to ask yourself while blogging especially if you are feeling burned out.
- The Free Audio Books have been announced for the summer!!  Go get one from audiobooksync !

Internet:
This week's internet video is screaming goats (which I love) performing the Game of Thrones theme song!

Books Books Books:
I didn't get any books this week... a few graphic novels from the library.  I am excited to read two of them.  One is Age of Ultron which is what the next Avengers movie is based off of.  The other comic I'm excited to read is the He-Man vol 1 !  I love He-Man and so I am soooo ready to read this one.

Sign up for my and Kimba's reading challenge if you have a lot of ARCs sitting around! I still need another host for the 3rd and 17th of May, so please email me if you are interested.

  3. Comic Con, congrats! Would love to get out there someday...I haven't seen much of the new Cosmos, but I've seen repeats of the old series and it was pretty cool. I've heard the new one is good too...

Nice! It's always nice to have week where you don't add much of anything to the TBR pile. Gives you the chance to play catch up!

Hi Angela, thanks for visiting my blog. I am looking forward to the challenge; I certainly need the kick in the butt! :D

  18. I just watched the Captain America movie last night with my sister. Great movie! Loved the humor and all the action. My sister and I were wondering what on Earth Tony Stark must be thinking in New York when this was all going on lol. Probably something like "eh, not my movie. I'm not worried about it." haha ;)

  19. Oh I really hope you'll enjoy the Comic Con! I was never a huge fan of comics but it seems much more than just bunch of cosplays! I cannot wait to hear your impressions. :) Great post :)

  20. Game of Goats is so funny! I was like who had the time to sit around and put this video together! They are my hero!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Locke and Key!! I love Locke and Key so much. More people should read them. I am going to check and see if my library has the Carl Sagan Cosmos show. I would love to watch it again.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thanks.... I love to find funny videos on the internet. I usually find some good ones by the time Sunday rolls around. I would totally recommend seeing Captain America. It is a great start to the summer movie season.

  23. I am not only playing catch up on books but tv too!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I like conventions too. I went to the one in Denver once and it wasn't anything compared to the San Diego one!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm anxiously waiting for the free audio books! I got my eye on a few

    ReplyDelete
  26. How fun!! I love what they have available this year.

  27. Glad it put a smile on your face!! Love it!

  28. I can't believe May is almost here and the challenge will begin. I am excited to help motivate everyone to get their books read. Thanks so much for joining us!

    ReplyDelete
  29. LOL! Comic Cons should be on everyone's lists to go to before they die. I look forward to seeing what you think of the movie!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I will have plenty of time at the Con for reading... you just sit in line sometimes for a really long time. I just make sure I read in that line!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I was thinking that too... I mean it was so serious to me what was going on that you would think the Avengers might pop on over and help out. I mean really???? But I guess Captain ended up handling it.. lol!

    ReplyDelete
  32. OH yea... the cosplay is a lot of fun too. But at the San Diego comic con there is WAY more then just that. I went to the Denver Comic Con and that one was more just coplay panels and what not.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Please give me a moment while I wipe the tears out of my eyes from watching that goat video.

So jealous! That's like one of my dream trips.

Thanks for linking up to my post about traveling with an e-Reader. :)

I'm so jealous that you get to go to comic con! I'm going to try to go when it comes to Toronto but I'm not holding out much hope since I'll be broke lol. I hope you have a good time.

  48. I hope you get to go. The San Diego Comic Con isn't that expensive actually. It's like $40 a day which isn't bad for all that you get to do and see.
