Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Reader.
I can't believe it is 2015!   Seriously.  2014 wasn't the best year.. but 2015 is going to be amazing I know it.   Resolutions.... I need some resolutions.  I want to keep working out... keeping reading more... keep the blog up.. volunteer.... go to yoga more.... and most important BE HAPPY.  It's funny that as I have been aging my priorities are changing as well.  Now I just want health and happiness.  Two things that are difficult.  Health I have some control over.... happiness too.  But sometimes both those can get a wrench thrown in.

My new bookcases are here at the house.  I am quite excited about them... I haven't posted a picture of them yet because there have been a few trips to IKEA.  A few trips = four trips.  IKEA is an hour from me.  The first time we went in to get the set.  Then we had to go back because one of the doors was placed in the wrong slot so when we got home we discovered it.  The third time we bought too short of cords for the lights that went on it.  And now for the fourth time one of the lights was broken after we hooked them all up so I have to go back tomorrow and return the light.  UGH. Here they are right now... Next week I will have a finished picture posted!!!  Exciting

Around the Blogospere:
-Bout of Books starts tomorrow!!  I can't wait to join... though I won't really get a lot of reading done the first two days probably because I am headed out of town. There is no linky for daily goals... which I liked so we'll see how people like it.
- Comment!!  I love to comment on blogs.  I love to take the time to read a blog and comment and start a conversation.  And.. it lets that blogger know someone thinks what they have to say means something.  Great post you should go read it and comment on it. ;) by Parajunkie
-Do you read sample chapters????  By Paper Fury   Great topic.  Sample Chapters... ugh!

  1. I spend a long couple of hours in IKEA last week my self. Lusting after book cases was a large part of that even though it isn't yet time for me to get those. Love them.

  2. I hope this is our last trip to IKEA for a while. You know what...why don't you grab a few more extra bulbs just to be on the safe side :)

  6. Those shelves are fab! Sorry you had to make so many darn trips. It's aggravating when you have to return to a local store that many times! The closest IKEA to me is in Georgia—two hours away. Never been there but we've ordered many things from them online.

  7. Ikea shelves are AMAZING. I found the perfect wall mounted shelves there for our movie collection ages ago.

  8. Very nice bookshelves. I've run out of space and will be getting some more soon. My only problem is there is no more room in the living room so I'm going to have to put them in the guest room. I'll probably move all of my read books in there and keep to be reads and favorites in the living room.

    Here's my Sunday Post - http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/01/04/whats-new-on-my-bookshelf-91-and-the-sunday-post/

  9. I love your new shelves! Most of our shelves are from IKEA too, and they're so lovely once they're up, but sometimes getting them set up can be quite the challenge.

  10. I'm so jealous of those shelves. I love them and think they look great. Sorry the experience was so taxing with all the trips to and from. I can't believe it is 2015 already too. Last year came and went so fast. I too just want health and happiness form myself and all those close to me this year. I hope this year is outstanding for you.

  12. Awesome bookcases! I'd like to have some like that- big ones that you can kinda decorate with all the stuff. Look great- have fun!

  13. *hi fives* Sample chapters are the WORST. I think the entire book should be in samplers, right? That's not too much to ask I'm sure....*starts petition to publishers* (Thaaaanks for linking to it too! SQUEE. You are so nice!)
I would like health and happiness too. That would be amazing. Heh. I spend half my time having some sort of allergy so yesssss HEALTH IS GOOD. You don't know how good it is till you've lost it, right?!

  15. Yay for Ikea bookcases. That's what I have as well. Mine look similar to yours but a little different. It took me a few trips too (and it's 3 hours) lol I ended up just paying extra to have them delivered. lol

  16. The bookcases I had before were from my mother and she bought them in the 80s. They still looked nice but I was ready for a new style.

  17. Let's hope this new light I bought works.. otherwise.. trip back.

  21. IKEA I swear has everything you need. I can't make a trip there without buying something that I just realized I need. Love it!

  22. That's what we need in our house next. Shelves for our movie collection. Which is huge.

  23. It's crazy when we bookworms run out of room for books. My mom just told me she took 6 paper bags full of books to her local thrift store to donate. And she gave a big box to someone's wife. This is why I try not to buy every single book I read and get most of them from the library. I don't want to end up with a bunch of books I might only read one time.

  24. Getting up the IKEA furniture is nuts. You practically have to build it. Of course my husband did the building of the shelves for me so thank God for that. Otherwise it was still really difficult to get it all together.

  25. I think it is interesting as we get older we just want different things. I would rather have no Christmas presents and just be happy. I love the shelves more then I thought I would. They do really look nice in that room. Happy New Year!

  26. Thanks... I am hoping to finish Inheritance before February but we'll see. It is a long long book.

  27. They are great shelves. The middle one is going to be for nicknacks but man if I start to get too many books.. well I guess those will be assigned to books instead of nicknacks. LOL!

  28. Sample Chapters.. really?? pish. I find that to be true. When you do get sick all of a sudden you are like dang I felt so good last week. LOLOL!

  29. I want to see what yours looks like!! Post them on instagram!!!

  30. Just did :) They went to my FB too. Are you on Instagram? I thought I had everyone followed but it wouldn't let me mention you in the comment.

  31. I agree 2014 was a sucky year for me. I hope 2015 is a good year for you too! My resolutions are pretty much the same as they've always been, write more. What gorgeous bookcases! Sounds like they were a hassle, but they're worth it. (Always so much fun putting those things together) Commenting is great! I was so scared to do it for so long.

  34. Would you believe I've never been to IKEA? The closest one to us is 4 hours away in Atlanta and normally when I'm in Atlanta we've got so much going on that a visit to IKEA just never quite happens. Soon though! Have a great week!

  37. 2014 just ended poopy. Unexpected events that weren't great. I am trying to focus more on myself this year and I have already started. Vitamins, laser hair removal, got my hair done and want to keep it up this year rather then doing home dyes. I am in the middle of decorating those bookcase and the picture of the finished version should be up in the next Sunday Post. I wish I could just sleep in that room! I mean I could .. but you know.. I want to be in my own bed too.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah!! Things are going so much better. I love those bookshelves... I am so glad that everyone else loves them too. LOL... I kind of wish that room was the guest bedroom. But there isn't enough room in there for the bed.. especially now that the new bookcases are in there.

  39. I was so excited when IKEA started to move closer to me. One was close to my parents house so I would go there when I visited them. Then finally one was built by my house so now I am there all the time. You must go... it's like heaven!!
