I doubt B&N made any money at all off of the devices, always having to compete with Kindle pricing, etc. I know it was about eBook market share, so it's a shame the Nook isn't doing well. Though my sharing on it went bananas. I joined this group on facebook called Nookfriends. It's where we share email address so we can have more Nook friends. Well.. ok so I ended up with 600 friends!! And that totally crashed the Nook friend app on my reader and now it doesn't know what to do. So I deleted all my friend and what not .. but still buggy. It said the only way to fix this is by going back to factory settings but then I lose all my side loaded books. sigh. Moral of the story is 600 friends is too much for the system!! I think the main reason why people aren't getting them is because Amazon has far more books available AND for much better prices oftentimes. Whenever somebody posts about Kindle deals, I'll check B&N for the same books and the prices are only maybe 50% of the time the same. If B&N would be more proactive and match Kindle sales (and you know, have sales of their own), they might stand a better chance. *sigh* Oh well. I'm hoping it will all work out in the end because I enjoy reading books on my Nook. :)Jessica L. I just like how I feel when I go in there. I think they have set up a great atmosphere. Books are usually cheaper on Amazon so I buy my physical books on Amazon and my ebooks from B&N. One thing that ANNOYS me is that people can't use their B&N membership discounts on anything that has to do with the Nook. So now I don't even bother having a membership with them. Which is maybe the same thing you do now that I think about it... just Amazon is the host. <br />The backlight can sometimes be a problem when you are outside. If I do ever have to get a new reader it will be one that doesn't have a backlight and is more similar to a actual book. I think it is sad that Barnes and Noble's ereader is not do well and I've noticed the push every time I step into the store. Also, as to checking-out library books on Kindle, yes you are redirected to a download link on Amazon. I don't know what it's like on the Nook but I find that extra step annoying, but hey it's free.Whitneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05929468785993424955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5507186203094106045.post-29168469300732630642013-05-16T21:44:46.694-06:002013-05-16T21:44:46.694-06:00I love my Nook, I've had an original, Color, T...I love my Nook, I've had an original, Color, Tablet, and now the HD (which I just purchased the week of Mother's Day). Thrilled with having the Google Play store available, but I'll still try to purchase books from B&N first. My little way of saying thank you. I worked at B&N for several years while in college and they were so good to me as I built up my music studio, helped me slowly reduce hours there as I gained new students. So grateful, and that definitely adds to why I feel loyal to them. :)Monika @ Lovely Bookshelfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13138730317208033566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5507186203094106045.post-21002007825845262442013-05-16T21:38:54.131-06:002013-05-16T21:38:54.131-06:00I do too.. the press conference even said that the...I do too.. the press conference even said that they realized that people wanted more out of the Nook. Amazon sent them one for free to try out. One thing that bothers me and maybe why ebook sales are down is because of the price. It's hard for people to want to pay the same price for an ebook as a physical book. I think ebooks should be cheaper then a physical book myself. I am not really ...The Kindle is doing much better. I am not really sure why either. I suppose it's because they came out with the Fire first, which is more of a Tablet, and this caused people to pick the Kindle. When I first got the Nook one of the main reasons was because you could check out library books on it and at the time you couldn't on the Kindle. Now the Kindle has fixed that even though I think you still have to go through Amazon's site to check out the book.
