Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves.

This past two weeks I have been so sick with pneumonia.  It was bad.  So sick.  Soooo I was a little behind on blogging and what not.  But I am back.  For those of you who have been patiently waiting for my new blog look it should be very soon now.    I have seen it and posted a sneak peak on my instagram account (if you follow there).  We are just working out the last kinks and then it should be up!!  I am really really really hoping for this week.

On the blog:
-I attend the  Denver Comic Con - 2014 and geekyness explodes!
-I participate in the Summer Library Challenge and chat about libraries.
-A New Comic Adventures this week...  Issue #13 (Wonder Woman, Jack of Fables, Aquaman, Batman).
-I chat with all of you about Being sick and blogging: THE HORROR...seriously.. it's awful.
-I review Scarlet by Marissa Meyer- Review
- A new Project Disney- The Black Cauldron have you actually seen this movie?  Most haven't even heard of this Disney film.

In the blogospere:
-I love this post about making an audiobook by Annie Jackson.  I just think .. someone sits down at a mic and read the book.  But there is so much more to it.
- The Pegster Reads has a great series on her blog right now about working at the Coroner's Office.  I find this facinating.  I love to learn about new things... especially jobs I am not familiar with.
- A wonderful post about depression ... perfect for this month since it is Mental Health Awareness month by Oh the Books.
- You guys!  There is going to be a New Balance line of shoes based on authors!!!!!

Internet:
Jimmy Fallon has been pretty funny on the Tonight Show... I have really loved him on there.  This video is hilarious!

Books Books Books
I am currently reading Cress by Marissa Meyer.  I am really enjoying it.  I didn't pick up anything from the library this week.  I was actually supposed to be on vacation visiting my parents and then got sick so I stayed home.  So my account was on a vacation hold.  Next week I am sure I will have loads to pick up.

  1. Hope you're feeling better! Great post on the comic con, love to see pictures of the floor. When I go to cons I always enjoy the dealer hall, and spend way too much time there (and $ too!).

That video of Jimmy on the coaster is hilarious- had to laugh at the bug moment! He looked like he was about to lose it there towards the end... :)

  4. Thank you! I am actually feeling a lot better then last week. I still have a cough and what not but I can sleep through the night and that is all I care about.

The con floors are the best. I could spend hours wondering around it. Just amazed by all I see.

The BUG in that video is so damn funny. At first I thought.. yea right bug. But then they show it in slow motion, I about died!!!

  5. I read that the stupid cough is supposed to last at least a month after you actually get over pneumonia. Stuff of nightmares!

  6. Cress has been fun. Hoping to read a huge chunk of it tomorrow. Do laundry (now that I am feeling better I am washing everything) and read all day.

  7. Lunar Chronicles are worth pushing up your list. I did push mine up and I was so happy I did. I really do hope the blog design is soon. I have been waiting like 2 months for the whole thing to come together and finish. I am hoping we get the final approval this weekend and she can start coding it.

Loved that Jimmy Fallon video - he's one of my favorite people in the world and I loved watching those Florida videos. The Harry Potter ones were especially hilarious :)

  13. Glad to see you're coming out the other end of it. I had an appalling chest infection a few months back and it made my life miserable. Even reading was uncomfortable.
Make sure you don't jump back into anything too quickly and take care.xx

I really enjoyed your posts this week - especially the Disney project. It'd been so long since I'd thought about that movie it was nice to get a reminder. Have a great week!

  19. I used to love roller coasters. But as I have become older they are awful and really just make me sick. That bug is so funny! I love the slow motion shot. Hilarious!

  20. I have to finished Cress before I pick my fav. Out of Cinder and Scarlet I like Cinder the best. Sometimes I just get so excited about the beginning of a journey. Like the Lord of the Rings. The first book, The Fellowship of the Ring is my favorite of the series. I love the beginning of the adventure.

  21. Yeah.. it sucks. But I am doing really well now. I feel seriously 100% better even though I still have a cough.

  22. Thanks! Fallon is super funny. I didn't watch him too often till he went onto the Tonight Show and then he was so hilarious I couldn't believe I had been missing him. So funny!

  23. I love your posts... so I was happy to mention you. Conventions are pretty fun. Though I have only been to Comic Cons. I have no idea what other ones would be like. My friend goes to the Scentsy one every year. And of course all the bloggers go to BEA. I think both those would be pretty fun.

  24. I thought I heard the Comic Con in NY was already sold out? At least I thought people were tweeting about it. It is a lot of people usually. Gets kind of awful in the lines but still fun if you can get past all that. I am reading Cress tonight right now while watching True Blood. I thought I would read late into the night but I am tired... so we'll see.

  25. Thank you for the advice. Was the chest infection pneumonia? I am still coughing so I don't know if that means that I still have an infection or what? I go to the Dr. on Tuesday so I am going to ask her then. I don't want to go backwards... so we'll see if I need antibiotics again or what.

  26. I can't wait to see it either. I just want to bother my blog designer everyday. Like "is it ready yet?" "is it ready yet" almost like a little kid on a car trip "are we there yet"? "are we there yet"?

  27. I have thought about DVRing the Tonight Show but those episodes always back up. I used to tape Conan because I really love him but like I said.. episodes kept backing up. I would usually only watch the beginning anyways.

The Black Cauldron is a movie people forget about. Some don't even know it's a Disney movie!!

  28. I have to be honest... I was pretty damned surprised that I got pneumonia! I don't know how I got it but I never thought I would have it. I mean.. just came out of no where. I didn't have a cold or anything. Just one day .. boom!
