Follow Me Friday

This is the day of the week where we get to know each other better by answering a question devised by our lovely hostesses Parajunkee & Alisoncanread. We also gain new followers by joining each other's sites via GFC, so please let me know if you're a new follower. And now for this week's question....
Q.  What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you hate love triangles?  Or can't deal with bad editing?
Well for me I really try to finish every book I have read.  The few that I haven't finished was just because they were over 500 pages and I would quit with about 100 pages to go.  I just can't stand when a story goes on and on for no reason! It drives me nuts.
What about you?

  1. That's a good one. I haven't experience this much with books because if I'm going to get turned off to it, it's much earlier than that. If it holds my attention for the majority of the book, I'll probably finish it. I know exactly what you mean, though. I've experienced with lots of movies...and a few books. :D Old follower via GFC. My FFs are at Musings on Fantasia and LKHill. Happy Friday! :D

  2. Long books don't bother me if they can manage to keep my interest. It seems like more and more books are getting longer.

  4. I know! Too long and too dragged out stories are so boring... I mean, I don't mind long, but it has to be interesting too! ;)

  5. That's a really good point - big books that are taking their own sweet time getting to the point drive me nuts too.

  8. Not a fan of too long of a story that's isn't necessary.

  9. I used to be that way. I'd have to finish every book I started. But then I decided that if I'm not enjoying a book, there's no point in continuing. It's still really hard for me to quit, though! And I often feel the need to go back to it later and see if I changed my mind.

  10. I agree. Long story and no plot is enough to drive anyone nuts!
