Library Sale= Bummer!!!

Well, today I attempted to go to my first library sale.  It was a 3 day sale... first day was for members, second day was for everyone, but the 3rd day was a $5 brown bag sale.  Everything you want in a bag for only $5.  I chose this day because some friends were supposed to go with me, but they didn't end up going.

WOW!  If you look at the picture above you can see just how crowded it was!  I didn't expect this.  People had bags stacked on the walls full of books.  One person had a cart of like 10 bags.  I will not be trying to go on the $5 bag sale next time that is for sure.  I only picked that day for my friends but now I know better.  I didn't see any young adult books which is what I was going for.  I wanted to get some to support the library and then have a giveaway.  Also... turns out it was cash only which I didn't have any (plus I should've known that).  I am also going to look into becoming a "friend" of the library and see what the membership is all about.

Next time I will be better prepared.  I WILL have cash, I WILL go on Saturday, and I WILL not leave empty handed!  They seem to take place every 3 months so the next one will be a Spring sale and I will have another post!

One For the Money-Movie Review

I love the book series about Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich. So when the movie finally got made I was so excited... especially since it kept getting put off.  I really enjoyed it.  Sucked I had to go and enjoy it by myself but at least since I went opening day I got to share the experience with others in the theater who had most likely also read the books and thought the inside jokes were funny.  I don't know how popular this book will be with people who haven't read the series.  The movie was screened to critics which usually always means it's a stinker.  And let's be real, this is not an Oscar nominated movie.

I keep looking up reviews on the movie and they are all bad.  But perhaps they should know that the books are serious literature either.  I say if you read the books.. go see it.  If you didn't read the books maybe you should pass.

Follow Me Friday (#25)

This is the day of the week where we get to know each other better by answering a question devised by our lovely hostesses Parajunkee & Alisoncanread. We also gain new followers by joining each other's sites via GFC, so please let me know if you're a new follower since I automatically follow back. And now for this week's question....

Question: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

I really dislike biographies and non-fiction.  I have tried and tried to read these types of books.  For example... Eat Pray Love which EVERYONE seemed to love I just couldn't get into.  One I did enjoy was Dewey the Library Cat.  Though I didn't finish it but I thought it was OK.
