This is the day of the week where we get to know each other better by
answering a question devised by our lovely hostesses Parajunkee &
Alisoncanread. We also gain new followers by joining each other's sites
via GFC, so please let me know if you're a new follower since I
automatically follow back. And now for this week's question....
Q: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell
in love with and then “broke up” with later on in either the series or a
stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.
YES I HAVE!! Have any of you read the Queen Betsy Taylor vampire series by MaryJanice Davidson? Yea? They were great weren't they? Then BAM! The last two books stunk to high heaven. The author even know this and apologized in the last book. And promised that one would be better. NO WAY! Here is my review on that book: Undead and Undermined . The strong vampire queen became a self centered crappy character in just two book.. and there is still a third book in this "arch" .
I also really loved the first art work for the book series.. not sure why they changed illustrators? I am sure though that was not the author's choice. Here are the fabulous book covers (which turned me onto the books in the first place). Undead and Unstable is the one I WON'T be reading.
So... what character is on your list???

Wow, you know it's bad when the author apologizes for the book in the book. I can't believe her publisher released it like that.

ReplyDeleteHopping through. I haven't heard of Queen Betsy Taylor books. Except for the last few, it sounds really interesting.

Never read those myself. But I likely won't now. I hate when a series starts out stellar than lets you down along the way!

Have a GREAT weekend!
Old Follower :)
I own the first two novels of this as a collection, but don't know if I should read them.. I hate it when books let me down, but then, who doesn't?

ReplyDeleteMy follow friday. Hope you'll visit!
I know! I LOVED the series. They are really fun. Not the greatest thing ever but a lot of laughs. Then the time travel thing happened and it's just so stupid.

Wow. It kind of looks like they are trying to make them look like the new and ugly Sookie Stackhouse covers.
