Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Reader.

It's been a while since I've posted but trying to get back into the swing of things.  I miss blogging but haven't been feeling well so keep putting it off.  I get anxiety really bad occasionally and then it throws everything out of wack.  Though I still visit a lot of blogs that I follow.  I have enjoyed reading what you guys are writing about.  Keeps my mind off things.  I haven't been reading much but did pick up Eragon off my personal book shelf. I have all four books from the series but have only read the first two.  So I thought why not go ahead and read the series.  Plus... I first read Eragon many years ago when I was also going through times of not feeling good so I thought it would be a perfect read.  Hoping to get a review of it up this week.

I have been playing a lot of video games lately.  I wrote a review for the game Destiny which will be posted this week.  I have also been watching a lot of TV.  I am loving all the superhero shows.  Gotham, Flash, SHIELD, Arrow.  Fun and entertaining. I have been wanting to watch American Horror Story since I liked all the other seasons but it just seems to scary for me right now. Sons of Anarchy is another show I haven't watched yet this season.  Just so much violence. Though of course I have it saved on my DVR for when I feel more up to it.  I have also been getting to know my bible more.  I have never really read it... but my in-laws do a bible study every week.  So I skyped in for my first time this week and really enjoyed it.  I wish I could physically be there but alas... everyone lives so far away for jobs.

Can we just talk for one minute about these CRAZY political ads on EVERYTHING.  I don't know if it's just because I am in a swing state but I am sick and tired of them.  We are literally swamped with them.  An entire commercial break is political ads. NO MORE.   Have you seen the new Avengers trailer???  No?  Well let me help you:

I hope this week to also get back into a few more comics.  I haven't read any for a while and I know you all miss my comic posts.  I have a Project Disney coming up too.  I only have like two of those left which is way sad!!

What is going on with you this week???

  1. The Avengers trailer is totally awesome- and it looks like it's going to be intense too. what is going on with the Hulk? And I hope we get some more background on the Black widow- I think we might.

All th superhero shows... if you're a fan of that it's like the best time to be alive. LOL. So much there now. Hope you feel better and have a great weekend.

  2. Gotham is the first series I have regularly watched for quite a while. Kinda enjoying it, especially the guy playing penguin.

And god yes, make the ads stop. Swing State Blues.

  3. Oh wow only two Disney posts left! Ah well I do look forward to reading them! The Avengers trailer is awesome - so dark too - I am so intrigued by where it seems they are going with this series.

I'm glad you are still checking in on blogs! I hope you feel better soon!

  4. We are swamped with political ads here in Iowa as well! It's bad enough that one of the local TV stations started doing Political Ad Breaks where they show kids have fun on a roller coaster and another is a couple sitting and relaxing at a spa. I definitely applaud them! I'm sick of the mudslinging.

  5. Oh the ads drive me batty! And yes on everything. I added a chrome ad blocker plugin and it has helped SO much for internet things. Even takes them off the youtube videos. Yay!

Hope you're feeling better soon Angela

  6. Sending you hugs, sweet girl! No anxiety here but I do have bouts of depression and sometimes it's easier to just stay away...though it's always nice to get back as well. And yes--even living in a pretty red state the ads this season are BRUTAL. Makes me not want to vote for either candidate! I am not looking forward to the 2016 election year.

Hope you have a wonderful week! I had planned on catching some of the new shows this year, especially Gotham, but am watching The Gilmore Girls for the first time instead. ;) It's a bit more comforting...

  8. It's good to see you! I hope things are going better for you and that you'll be around more. Yay for a Project Disney but sad that there's only 2 left. I only watch DVR'd TV so that helps with the political ads but we seem to get a pretty hefty amount of the - I just watch them go by in fast forward. Have a great week!

  9. I can understand some of what you are going through. I have really bad anxiety myself but I'm doing better now. I hope you begin to feel better soon and know you're not alone.

I have been loving the Flash, Gotham, and Arrow. Great shows this year. I also want to watch American Horror Story but haven't had time my DVR is filling up with that one. My DVR also helps me fast forward through all those horrible political commercials.

Have a great week and I know I'll be commenting again soon here.

  10. I feel your pain about anxiety. One bad attack essentially cripples me for days. It's awful.

Also, I stopped watching TV because of the ads. Holy moly. We'll maybe get one normal commercial and the rest of the break are ads. It's awful. I can't wait to vote so it'll be over with.

  11. Hey - hope you feel better! Amen on the political ads, just phwew, God, make it stop!!

    After
saying I was going to do so for many years, I finally read through the
bible cover to cover a few years back, with my wife. Not, like,
physically with my wife, side by side on the couch or anything, but we
both participated in a daily readthrough from biblegateway-dot-com or
one of those sites. It was very illuminating/ fascinating.

Anyway - hang in there over your way and hope all is well, my blogging friend.

  13. I am enjoying Gotham as well! Seems to be the year of the comic book geek! Wow! I am amazed you are almost finished with project disney!

  14. Thanks for stopping by!! Avengers just looks amazing and I heard that after this next Avengers movie there will be a whole new cast. Interested to see what that is going to be about.

  15. Penguin has been quite interesting in the series. I mean.. that guy is crazy. Sometimes I have to play solitaire on my phone while his scenes are on so I don't have to look at all his craziness. THOSE ADS... ERRRRRRRRR

  16. I can't believe only two Disney posts too. Time flew by. If I hadn't fallen behind on blogging I would've already finished. I have no idea what I will do next.

  17. The mudslinging is the the worst. Honestly the commercials are just full of fear mongering. The ads in the mail... the phone calls. I am sick of it. And we still have about one more week of them. Just terrible too that so much money is spent on it when that could go to feeding people and housing them.

  18. That is nice that the ad blocker takes the ads off the youtube videos. I mean... sometimes I go on youtube to watch a movie trailer but before I get to watch the one I want I have to watch a totally different movie trailer. It's nuts.

  19. I do get depression when I get anxiety. Getting over the hump is the hardest part. I think though things are looking up. I've been through it before so I have an idea of how to handle things.

I can't believe you hadn't seen Gilmore Girls yet. That is such a good show... and yes comforting. I have been meaning to watch it. I love that show so much. I've even read some books that Rory read in the show from a group on goodreads that based off the books in the show.

  20. Thanks for stopping by!! I am ready to get back into comics. I've read one that I can add to the list but need to add some more. I haven't been to the library in a month and miss it!

  21. I usually watch DVR shows. But if I watch football or something like that I have to watch those commercials. What a nightmare. The next Project Disney is Fox and the Hound. I need to watch the movie and then the post will be up!

  22. Ughhh anxiety. It's the devil. I have had it for over 10 years now. Every now and then I have a bad bought with it. Then of course I don't really feel like reading. But I have been back to reading. Slowly but surely. I have been checking your blog on my break. Enjoy reading your posts!

  23. I think it is honestly crazy that there is an entire 5 minutes of commercials with political ads. Just bad stuff. I mean... awful. I am surprised how many people have commented and also have anxiety. You feel alone when you have anxiety then realize that there are a lot of people who have it.

  24. Oh wow... how wonderful that you guys read the bible cover to cover!!! You should be proud. I tried that once and just didn't get through. Bible study has been neat because it helps me find passages and actually get what they mean. I am really looking forward to this week's bible study. Going to church on Sunday just doesn't give me enough information.

  25. I am amazed I am almost done too. I was totally dedicated to it... so that helped.

  26. Agreed! Can't wait for the calls and junk mail to stop.

  27. I am getting really into those shows too! I haven't started Flash yet tho - I want to get further into Arrow first since they are in the same world (right?!). I am also watching Blacklist - it is pretty wonderful as well :) Have a great week and feel better :)

  28. I'm sorry that you've not been totally well at the moment- anxiety is such a difficult thing to deal with, and I hope you're feeling much better right now. Taking breaks is a really good idea from time to time, and I do hope that you feel the time you've spent on yourself over this past month has been beneficial. xx

  29. I'm sorry to hear you've got anxiety! A surprisingly large number of my friends have anxiety, and it's been a real eye opening experience to how much it can disrupt your life. Hopefully things will even out soon!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has been SO much better this season! I've gotten really excited about it. And I've finally gotten into Arrow too! I had a really hard time with the beginning of the first season, so it took me a while, but now I'm into the second season. And I'm SO excited to see Black Canary in a show! She was one of the only super heroes I knew anything about as a kid. (I guess I should have assumed she would show up since, you know, Green Arrow and everything, but I didn't lol)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes... Arrow and Flash are pretty linked. But I don't know if you have to watch one in order to watch the other. I think you just have to know who each person is and you seem to so that's great. I actually am not watching Blacklist and people seem to really like that show. Tonight there is nothing on TV!

  31. Thank you! I know this answer is really late.. and I can't believe you wrote that 17 days ago! But things are getting a little easier.

  32. I agree about anxiety just totally upsetting everything. SHIELD has been so much better this season. I am glad I stuck with it and didn't give up. I almost did. Black Canary is neat to see in a show. She had much more of a role this week then any other week.
