I am going to participate again in this read-a-thon! I really need to get caught up on some books and when I saw others participating in it I knew it was perfect for me. I almost missed out on it this time around. I decided to go ahead and check the bout of books website to see when the next one is and walla!! It starts on the 7th!
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 6.0 team
Don't forget to use the #boutofbooks hashtag when updating on Twitter and follow boutofbooks.
I will be updating my progress here and on my my twitter page.
Time Devoted to Reading
I will be reading 4 hours a day/during the week/ not exactly sure how much reading I will get in on the weekend. On Saturday I will be busy so not really sure about that day.
My Goals:
I would like to read 4 books. I am in the middle of a Harry Potter re-read and really would like to get it done this week. I am also reading Beautiful Creatures for my book club. I would like to participate in a twitter chat. I participated in one last time around and it was a lot of fun and a GREAT place to get advice from other people.
Just figured out the pages... so these 4 books total 2844 pages. So I will have to read about 400 pages a day!!

Oh, re-reads usually go pretty fast for me and I'm sure the same is true for most readers. You should meet your goals with no problem. Even though Deathly Hallows is HUGE! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing Beautiful Creatures for a long time now. I know I'll pick it up sooner or later, just haven't done it yet.
Good luck and have fun!
Thank you!!! I have only read Deathly Hallows once so I am ready to read it again!
Delete^^ Good luck, rereads are quicker for me too but still 4 books is a good goal
ReplyDeleteI would've had more books on my goal list but these books are all over 600 pages I think!
DeleteGreat goals! I need to pick up Beautiful Creatures soon... especially before the movie comes out! I hope you accomplish all your goals!
ReplyDeleteI love to read books BEFORE the movies too!
DeleteYou've chosen some hefty books to pick up! But, they're all amazing, and I actually really enjoyed Beautiful Creatures, so I'm sure you'll fly through them. I hope to see you during a Twitter chat, as they're always so fun! I love meeting so many new people, it's such a blast. =)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals, and happy reading! <3
-Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life
I agree, the twitter chats are a blast!
DeleteWhen it comes to HP, that many pages are really possible :) I still need to re-read HP 5-7 & I hope you're enjoying BC, too. It was great, but I still need to read the rest of the series.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading & I hope to see you on today's chat :)
I'm 40% through Beautiful Creatures - and I love it so far. Love Harry Potter too :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog - good luck with all your goals!
3 hours is good, and begins to put a dent in that pile of books you have planned to read! I am beginning to think that if I stay off the computer then more pages get read. I took part in the twitter chat today and that was the advice of some of the tweeps, so for rest of the week I am going to be more disciplined! Enjoy the read-a-thon.
ReplyDeleteWhoa you're taking on some massive books, I never seem to complete my Harry Potter rereads, I always make it to the third book and then stop. Good luck with your goals and I hope you're enjoing Beautiful Creatures. :)
