100 Followers!

 

Wow!  I can't believe I have 100 followers!  It has been a lot of work but I am so glad for each and every one of you.  I just hope my blog posts are entertaining enough to keep you stopping by my page to see what is going on!!  I keep learning everyday how to update my blog... if you have any suggestions let me know!!!!  Happy Reading!

This week I received two books from the library... City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare and Sapphique by Catherine Fisher .  I am excited about both books and really hope to get started on them within the next two weeks.  Also this week my aunt loaned me The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly.   So I must add that book to my TBR pile!  I was able to pick up Dead Recoking by Charlaine Harris  from my aunt while in Denver after the book signing so I can finally get started on that too!  For those of you who follow my blog then you know I also review movies, so I also got to pick up season 1 of Space Ghost Coast to Coast from the library as well!  Can't wait to get started watching it.  I love that show and haven't seen it since the 90's!

Charlaine Harris book signing!

Charlaine Harris came to Denver this week for a book signing, which I totally had to attend.  I have been a fan of hers since way before True Blood the series ever existed.  It was really a lot of fun.  She is so personable and you can tell how much she loves her characters and books!  The crowd was great as well.  I even met someone in line who took a picture of me with Ms. Harris since we weren't allowed to pose with her... only a drive by picture.

I live in Colorado so I live no where close to New York.  But I did sign up for BEA armchair.  Though I have received NO information on this what-so-ever.  Someone did say though if you follow BEA on Twitter they post info about BEA armchair so I have been meaning to check it out.

Follow Friday question: What is the most emotional scene in a book I have read lately.
Hummmm.... well.  I am currently reading a Discovery of Wtiches and I would have to say the most emotional part in the book is when the main character Diana gets an important letter!  I don't want to say too much because it will spoil the book for others!

Waiting on Wednesday (#4)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, where we have the chance to share what upcoming releases we are on the edge of our seats in anticipation for.

This week I have decided to list A Dance with Dragons by George RR Martin.  Or better known to readers of the series as book five in the Song of Ice and Fire series.  I must admit though, I have not read any since book three.  I own book four, and I will own book five.  But Martin take a very very long time writing these novels.  In fact, originally there was supposed to be seven novels but as I understand the publishers made him split book 4 into two.  So now there will be 8 books.   I have read interviews with Martin where he is real snooty with his fans saying he will write the books when he feels like it.  So, I personally have decided to not read the books again until all the book are out.

I do love love the Game of Thrones show on HBO and think they are doing a fantastic job with the series.  I wonder where the series will go though since the books aren't finished and won't be for YEARS!!!

Thor Review

Ok as you know I mix reviews of books, movies and video games on this blog.  This Friday night I went to Thor and LOVED it.  I thought it had wonderful action, romance, comedy, guys, and superheros.   I love all the movies that are leading up to the big Avenger movie in a few years.  If you do go to see this remember to stick around after the credits (like all Marvel movies) to wait for a special scene.   I would also recommend seeing this in 3D IMAX.  It was decent 3D (I haven't been enjoying 3D lately because they are just making every movie 3D).  Green Lantern and Captain America has a lot to live up to!
