This is the day of the week where we get to know each other better by answering a question devised by our lovely hostesses Parajunkee & Alisoncanread. Sounds like GFC is eventually going away.. so you may want to follow by email or bloglovin/feedly (I love both). And now for this week's question....
Q. What book are you embarrassed to admit that you loved?
A. First off Happy Halloween!! There really isn't much I am embarrassed about reading... reading is good no matter what! So I suppose my answer is the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series. These books are extremely short... you can read them in 3 maybe 4 hours. Each book follows the same damn format and sometimes the same villain is in another book too. Let's be honest.. you don't have to really think when you read these books. But they are super fun... and I love them. I even liked the movie One for the Money even though it was panned. I have Takendown Twenty on hold at the library already! I am number 300... but I'll get it by Christmas!
I have heard really good things about the Stephanie Plum series, I'll have to give it a try. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy fun... and quick reads. They always make me smile and that's what I want!
DeleteI couldn't get into that series, but I did like the movie. (Usually it's the opposite!) Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend. :)

I thought the movie was pretty good... I mean.. what did people expect from a Plum novel to movie? An Oscar worthy film??? It was cute like the books.
DeleteI have been trying to get a hold of the first book in the series but my library sucks, and since it's a long series I refuse to dish out the cash. It looks really fun and cute though! I watched the film and enjoyed it a lot. I hope you get the copy soon, waiting for books is never fun!
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's really awesome that you don't care what anyone thinks about what you're reading! I hope I can be that way, but now paranormal romance is not something I publicize (except to other readers).

The books are so short I wouldn't dish out the $30 to buy a hardback either. Maybe a local used bookstore will have a copy?
DeleteI love Stephanie Plum! I'm on #13. I loved the movie too! I thought I was the only one!

I love these books soo much. They aren't the best writing... but they aren't the worst either.
DeleteWow! That's a long wait list! Hope you enjoy that one once you get it!

DeleteI've never heard of that series but I agree with loving books that are super short and fun. I picked 2 children's series for mine. My Feature

I'll have to check them out.... children's books can be fun!
DeleteI haven't read those yet, but I have the first two on my bookshelves. Sometimes it's nice just to read fun books that don't require a lot of thought. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF

You should just sit down and read them... it'll take you maybe one afternoon a book.
DeleteI haven't read any of the Stephanie Plum books, but I've heard that they're a fun, quick read (and I have them on the TBR). It's nice to have read something like that every once in a while :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Yeah that was supposed to Mad Hatter Reads instead of my FF (LOL)
DeleteI agree... a quick read with characters you already know. Evanovich will even do like little shorter stories in the middle of the year sometimes.
DeleteHopping through. I've never read the Stephanie Plum books. My parents love them though. They sound like fun.
ReplyDeleteMy FF
I actually read 3 or 4 of the books in that series and I totally know what you talking about! It's like you read them without thinking about it, you just read them lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my post!
True... finally someone else who has read them! Most people stop by either have never heard of them or want to read them and haven't.
DeleteMy wife used to love that series. She hasn't read the last few books thought because they are so predictable and the same. I can understand your feelings.
ReplyDeleteOh yea... predictable. I do feel that it does follow the exact same plot lines over and over.
DeleteOh yeah, the Stephanie Plum books are so much fun. I especially like the first four. I've read through 17, but haven't read 18,19 or 20.
ReplyDeleteI also liked the movie. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but I thought it was good. I even kind of liked Katherine Heigl.
I think 20 comes out real soon. This month in fact. I better get the books in my TBR pile done so I can get started on it.
DeleteI have never read any but I see them all the time! Sometimes it's nice to read a book that you don't really have to think about. Might have to try them one day when I'm looking for a more easy going read =D My FFF.
ReplyDeleteGo for it! such easy reads and quick. Almost like reading a short story I think.
DeleteYeah, I don't mind really admitting to anything I like. :)
