Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves.

This week I have been having some fun on instagram.  I have been participating in a bookish event where we post pictures of different topics everyday.  I've tried to keep up.. though I don't know how my non-bookish follows feel about being spammed with book pictures but whatever!

 On the Blog:
-I review Cress by Marissa Meyer and confess I love this series so much!
-I participate in Top Ten Tuesday Bookish Confessions
- Another Project Disney Mary Poppins, though not an animated film still a good one

Around the blogospere:
-A Book Rat is hosting her annual Austen in August.  It is a pretty fun event and I have enjoyed it over the years.  Be sure to check it out and join if you choose.
-Bloggiesta is coming!! July 19th-20th.  I love it so much.  Seriously I get a lot of work done on the blog during this time.  If you don't know what this is... it's a time when all bloggers come together to work on their blogs.  Be sure to join up!
-Do you like my new blog look?  Turns out that New Chapter Designs is giving away a FREE blog design this month!!!!  Go enter!
-A great post on what that FTC disclaimer is all about and do you need to change how you are doing it now.. by Alexia's Books.
-Profamily, a sorry excuse for banning books by Wordrevel. Such a fantastic post that I agree with on all levels.

Internet:
Ok soooo I confess .. I watched Sharknado 1.  I didn't watch it when it first came out, but Twitter blew up with everyone talking about it.  So we had a Sharknado night on my home theater and it was soooo fun.  Yes it's cheesy, but if you have a sense of humor and can laugh at D movies then you might as well watch it.  Get ready to laugh at the whole thing.  Sharknado 2 comes out this month.. and I will watch again. Why not??

Books, Books, Books
I am going to squeeze in the book Gone Girl.  I just know the movie is about to come out and eventually I am going to see the movie trailer.  I have been trying to avoid it because I heard the trailer has spoilers in it.  I should be starting it today or tomorrow on my Nexus 7.  I also have a few graphic novels I need to read before they are due back.  I am at the max of re-checking them out and that makes me really realize I have been putting them off far too long.

  1. Well.. the movie is so corny it might make you laugh at tornadoes and sharks. I mean.. the tornadoes make the sharks fly onto land (like way inland) and there are some hilarious scenes where people get eaten. It just is hilarious!

  2. Great post again this week Angela. I love the new buttons they look great. I'm hoping to finish reading Popular on Sunday and start reading The Real Boy.

The bookish pictures is so cool. Have you been doing that the whole year? I'm thinking of creating an instragram, but I haven't caved yet.

  3. Oh dang, the Gone Girl trailer had spoilers? Ha. Well I've seen it now! >_< I kind of want to read that now, particularly when the movie looks awesome, but I just want to know what the hype's about! My Stack!

  4. I tried starting Gone Girl a week or so ago but I could not get into it. I've since dropped it for now. How are you finding it?

  5. I'm so terrible at those types of challenges. I'll start out fine, but then lose interest or forget. Haha - I still haven't Sharknado. I should one of these days.

  6. HAhahahahahaha! I've heard of sharknado, but I have never watched it. Not sure what a 'D' movie is. Gotta say though, that trailer was ridiculous! And I saw you like comics. I'm not much of a comic person myself, but I went to comic con in London yesterday. It was pretty cool :)

  7. I'm doing 30daysofbookstagrams too, I absolutely love it and I am finding more books to read from it (who would've guessed). I'm glad you're enjoying it too!

  10. Ok I'm kind of dying to watch Sharknado. Not something I'd regularly admit but it does sound so ridiculously wonderfully silly! I found Gone Girl to be a pretty quick read and ended up enjoying it. I'll be interested to see how you feel about it as there were some very mixed reactions. Have a great week!

  11. OOhhh I can't wait to see your review on Popular. I have been seeing so many mixed feelings on that book. So I really want to know what you think. The bookish pictures is a lot of fun. My instagram isn't only for book posts.. but i have found a lot of book bloggers through instagram. If you don't want to add any personal pictures you could make your instagram strictly for you book blog and post pictures of books!! So fun!

  12. Yes yes.. the trailer has major spoilers for the book I heard. Though I think my mom spoiled the book for me already. It is a great book though.

  14. Sharknado is so hilarious. I mean... we were like screaming laughing when watching it and the second one looks just as hilarious as the first one. I didn't even watch it when it first came around but the buzz about it made me tape it and watch it. Soooo funny!

  15. Well... since my instagram isn't only for my book blog (it's also my personal one) I try not to spam my followers with just books. So I really only pick the ones that really would be cute and good pictures. I suppose I am just picky... lol!!

  16. HAHAH!! D movie means.. well... it really means that the movie is a joke. So even though this is supposed to be some sort of horror movie it is simply just hilarious. Sharks flying around through tornadoes landing on land and still being able to eat people. I beat the London Comic Con was amazing. I am going to the San Diego Comic Con in a few weeks (that's the big one in the US) and I am really really excited about it.

  17. OHHHH FUN!! I am going to try to find you on there. I really have enjoyed seeing all the pictures. I have seen people doing some unique ones. Like the best travel books.. the blog Bookish Whimsy posted a picture of her books strapped into a seat belt. It was really cute!!

  21. Honestly.. I didn't ever intend on watching the first Sharknado. I was like eh. But then I just kept seeing everyone talking about how crazy it was and I was like.. this is a must see. We had a big viewing party at my house with a bunch of friends and it was just so fun to watch. Gone Girl is going good right now. I am really enjoying it and really want to not be blogging and be reading LOL! But I knew I needed to get caught up on comments.

  22. I can't remember if we've talked about this or not--have you read Saga (graphic series).

I had no idea what sharknado was until I was at the movies with my girls the other day and saw a preview. Oh my gosh it looks like cheesy ridiculous fun. LOL! Glad you enjoyed it!!

Wish I could do bloggiesta this weekend. I swear I'm out of town every time it's going on! Since moving to WP I feel like I have a bunch if work to do. Hope you get a lot done!

  24. I have only just started using instagram and that challenge looks like fun.

I've only seen bits and pieces of Sharknado and found it very funny and corny as you mentioned. I can't believe they are making a second one, that's just hillarious. My kids will love that. LOL

Have a great week Angela and enjoy your books.

  26. We had a really fun viewing party at my house when Sharknado first came out it was tons of fun. I just love how serious they are just we just all laugh. I noticed that the budget for the movie must be must larger this time around. Instagram is pretty fun. I really enjoy seeing all kinds of photography on there.

  27. I just finished Gone Girl the other night so the review will be up this week. The movie trailer looks pretty good so they might do a good job with it.. though I did hear the ending changes. Which totally sucks.
