Big Hero 6
This weekend I went to see Big Hero 6 and loved it. It was a fun movie. This is a movie for everyone. I was surprised at how packed it was on a Saturday afternoon but I guess it is a movie for kids so that's when the parents will take them (I don't have kids). What I liked about it was that it showed a kid who is depressed. Well not what true depression is but that he was very sad. And then the film shows him become happy again. Such a great lesson.
I really loved Baymax. That is the big white guy. He was the perfect friend. You can't watch this film without wishing Baymax was your friend. I haven't read the Marvel comics that this is based off. Though I did read it is a totally different take. I guess Baymax is not nice and cuddly in the comic. So I don't know if I will read them since I don't want my views of Baymax to change.
There is a great scene at the end of the credits... because of course this is a marvel movie. I did think the movie was a little too long. Maybe by 20 minutes. But very enjoyable. I would recommend everyone seeing it.

Very cool - glad to hear you enjoyed it!ReplyDelete
Hope you're doing okay, Angie.
Thanks! Things are going much better. The panic attacks are going away so that has been nice.ReplyDelete
Ahh, this looks so cute - will have to watch it soon!!ReplyDelete
And yes, glad to see you posting again :)
Thanks... I don't have a lot to post just yet. Slowly reading. So I don't have a lot of book reviews to put up just yet.ReplyDelete
I heard this was based on a Marvel Comic and I loved the Stan Lee pop in. Even in s cartoon that man finds away in. It was really funny and I love that Disney puts things in there movies for the grown ups.ReplyDelete
If the comic portrays Baymax less cuddly then I think I will skip it also.
I watched the trailer and wasn't that impressed, so wasn't planning on watching the film, but you've convinced me to at least give it a try. I'll get it out when it's available on DVD and see what I think- it certainly sounds like there's a really wonderful sadness-happiness journey in it, and I think it's going to be a lot more than I anticipated.ReplyDelete
We saw it last night and it was such a cute movie. I could agree that it was a little long for a Disney movie and my interest waned at times, but overall I enjoyed the movie. I loved Baymax and Hiro. I think it was a great lesson to teach kids.ReplyDelete
This movie looks super cute, I have to say. I'm hoping I'll be able to get some time to see it! (I don't live anywhere near a theater).ReplyDelete
Yeah... I guess that the comic is totally different. So I think I will avoid it and stick to the movie. Next movie I am seeing is Mockingjay.ReplyDelete
It does have a sadness-happiness journey. Which I did think was nice. Lots of action too. I would for sure check it out on DVD!ReplyDelete
It was just a little too long. 2 hours is a long movie to me. But I guess Interstellar is 3 hours ... that is way long!!ReplyDelete
OH wow... not living by a theater! I don't know how you do it. I go to the movies in the theater a few times a year so that would be kind of awful for me.ReplyDelete
I'm so excited to see this one, Angela! We might splurge and go see it at the expensive first run theatre!ReplyDelete
I had no idea this was a Marvel movie! It looks fun though- I'm going to try and see it. I'm glad they didn't do it like the comic if he's not friendly- this one looks fine on its own.ReplyDelete
It was worth it... made a Saturday really fun.ReplyDelete
I didn't know it was Marvel until after the trailer had been out for a while. Then I found out.... thought about getting the comic but then decided against it.ReplyDelete
I loved this too! I didn't know this was based on a Marvel comic but I did see Stan's cameo. This was a great movie.ReplyDelete
I am so glad you enjoyed it. The trailers make my lol all the time. I can't wait to go see this :)ReplyDelete
Did you stay after the credits??? There was a surprise at the end.ReplyDelete
Oh man... I can't imagine not going to the movies when you want. I am sure though you are having a great time with your little one though.. so that's a good trade.ReplyDelete
I love the trailer too... which influenced me to head to the theaters right away.ReplyDelete
No we didn't stay. But we plan on watching it again so I'll check out the credits =)ReplyDelete
