Big Hero 6

This weekend I went to see Big Hero 6 and loved it.  It was a fun movie. This is a movie for everyone.  I was surprised at how packed it was on a Saturday afternoon but I guess it is a movie for kids so that's when the parents will take them (I don't have kids).  What I liked about it was that it showed a kid who is depressed.  Well not what true depression is but that he was very sad.  And then the film shows him become happy again.  Such a great lesson.

I really loved Baymax.  That is the big white guy.  He was the perfect friend.  You can't watch this film without wishing Baymax was your friend. I haven't read the Marvel comics that this is based off.  Though I did read it is a totally different take.  I guess Baymax is not nice and cuddly in the comic.  So I don't know if I will read them since I don't want my views of Baymax to change.

There is a great scene at the end of the credits... because of course this is a marvel movie.  I did think the movie was a little too long.  Maybe by 20 minutes.  But very enjoyable.  I would recommend everyone seeing it.

  5. I heard this was based on a Marvel Comic and I loved the Stan Lee pop in. Even in s cartoon that man finds away in. It was really funny and I love that Disney puts things in there movies for the grown ups.

If the comic portrays Baymax less cuddly then I think I will skip it also.

  6. I watched the trailer and wasn't that impressed, so wasn't planning on watching the film, but you've convinced me to at least give it a try. I'll get it out when it's available on DVD and see what I think- it certainly sounds like there's a really wonderful sadness-happiness journey in it, and I think it's going to be a lot more than I anticipated.

  7. We saw it last night and it was such a cute movie. I could agree that it was a little long for a Disney movie and my interest waned at times, but overall I enjoyed the movie. I loved Baymax and Hiro. I think it was a great lesson to teach kids.

  9. Yeah... I guess that the comic is totally different. So I think I will avoid it and stick to the movie. Next movie I am seeing is Mockingjay.

  11. It was just a little too long. 2 hours is a long movie to me. But I guess Interstellar is 3 hours ... that is way long!!

  12. OH wow... not living by a theater! I don't know how you do it. I go to the movies in the theater a few times a year so that would be kind of awful for me.

  14. I had no idea this was a Marvel movie! It looks fun though- I'm going to try and see it. I'm glad they didn't do it like the comic if he's not friendly- this one looks fine on its own.

  16. I didn't know it was Marvel until after the trailer had been out for a while. Then I found out.... thought about getting the comic but then decided against it.
