Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Reader.

I was gone last week to the state of TX.  I loved it.. the weather, friends and family.  Back to reality now.  I love TX weather in the winter.  Just perfect. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to eat lots of food! I dropped my phone in the toilet. Yeah that's right. It was in my back pocket and when I pulled my pants up.. plunk!  Such a bummer. Luckily I still have my iPhone 4 so I am going to hook that back up.  I am addicted to games on my phone so it was such a bummer!   I am going to attempt to go to a yoga class this week.  I am a little nervous about it but people seem to love it.  Sooooo... Monday I am going to a beginners class.  I always hear it is stress reducing helps with anxiety.  So next week I'll let you know how it goes.

  1. Glad you had a good Thanksgiving- sorry to hear about your phone. Yikes. stuff happens... How bout that trailer? I'm not sure what to think actually- there were things I liked and some I wasn't sure about, but it's hard to know. Just seeing the Millenium Falcon though- that was awesome.

  2. What about that light saber???? I mean... it's like a sword!! WOW!! I did read this post about how hyped people were after seeing the Phantom Menace trailer and that turned out to be a flop. So we'll see.

  3. Lol, my mom has zero luck with phones, too. I don't think that anyone in our family changes them as fast as she does.
    Have a great week, Angela.

  5. I've always wanted to try yoga, but it's so expensive for classes and I don't want to DIY and hurt myself.

Yoga probably saved my life by helping me get in touch with my body which helped me lose weight. If you had apple care they would probably fix it. I have also heard to pour rice in a pan then place the phone there and it will dry it out.

  7. It's in the 70s and balmy here on the Gulf Coast. Beautiful weather for the holiday. Sorry about your phone. Maybe Santa will replace it!
I liked the trailer and hope the movie lives up to the hype. Have you seen the new Jurassic Park one! I've been waiting so long for the next movie.

  10. Yoga is amazing! When I was doing it regularly it was a wonderful stress reliever. Now I ride horse in place of doing yoga. It's closer to my home. :)

  11. How is your sister doing? I have been wondering. They did start me on a new pill Remeron which has really been a big help for me.

  13. I am so jealous about those who live in TX at this time of year. Today we went out shopping and boy was it cold! I do like snow though. It's so pretty.

  14. What's cool is that the place I am doing it at is donation only... so you pay what you can. I love that so much. Hoping it's great!

  15. That sucks about your phone. I imagine that was quite a fun moment. We always keep our old phones for exactly that purpose. Good luck with your yoga class! I'm okay with yoga though I really prefer Pilates. We are OBSESSED with the Star Wars trailer over here. I think it's been playing on a loop. Have a great week!

  16. Oh no on the phone!!! I've had mine fall but thank the stars it managed to land on the floor. Good luck with yoga this week!

  17. That Star Wars trailer has be very excited. I am sure I will be camping out at the theater waiting for the movie. I always keep old phones.... just in case. I can't get any apps to update on my iPhone 4 though...soooooo we'll see. I may have to pay the insurance and fix my old phone.

  18. I do know Apple Care would fix the phone but Apple Care is so expensive. The odds of my phone falling in water was probably slim... so I didn't buy Apple Care. Of course now it would've been worth the money. Who knew??? I tried the rice thing... didn't work at all. It probably didn't help that I turned the phone on right after it got wet.

  19. I am excited about the new Jurassic Park movie too. It looks good. I loved the first movie. Oh Santa... he might have to bring me a new phone. I always have people give me money for Christmas and then I never buy anything. It ends up going to bills or something. I tried to think of something I really wanted this year but there really isn't anything. I have everything I want.. and everything I need.

  20. I tried the rice trick... nothing. It just didn't work. Too much water probably got in the phone. Such a bummer!

  21. I didn't have a fancy phone for a long long time. I now really enjoy it. I like the weather app, the solitaire app, and texting on it. I would miss those apps.

  22. I would love to ride a horse. How wonderful that you own one!! I wish I lived by you...I want to do horse back riding but it is very expensive for classes.

  23. I will for sure update the blog on the yoga experience. I was supposed to go tonight but won't be able to go now till next week. Sooo... that was kind of a bummer.

  24. Come visit me on Iowa! I'll take you riding.

  25. Thank you!!! You need to post a picture of the mailbox you fixed... I would love to see it. I am getting my vet office a gift for Christmas... any ideas? They are a cat only vet. I have looked everywhere for something cool they could put in the office.

  26. LOL I'll snap a picture in a couple days. I want to get it all pretty and painted and try to salvage some of the plants around it. :)

Hmms on the gifts. I would so go the food route I think. That is always good. Some tasty treats that everyone can snack on when they come in. It's hard to say toys or things like that because all of those would need to be sanitized between uses if different cats I'm sure.

  27. Dropping your phone in the toilet is awful! Does it stink? Lol. I'm so into playing games on my phone too. What are you playing? :)

  28. She's doing much better. Thank you for asking, Angela. Now that everything is out, it is easier for all of us, we talk more and she tells us when something is problem for her (like driving in public transportation, but she is trying to overcome that now - I can't believe how strong and determining she is).

  29. I'm glad you enjoyed your Texas trip! But sorry about your phone. I did that with my iPod once. I put it in one of those plastic food containers with a bunch of rice and left it there for about 2 weeks, and it recovered completely. Hopefully your phone will recover, too, once it dries out all the way.

I'm still a little leery of the new Star Wars movies. I came of age during the original trilogy - I was in 9th grade when the first one came out, and in college by the time Return of the Jedi hit the theatres. I loved them, but I wasn't very happy with the prequel trilogy (well, to be honest I only watched the first one of that trilogy.) So. . . we'll see, when it actually comes out. I'm not opposed to continuing/reviving/rebooting franchises - I actually enjoyed the Star Trek reboots despite their departures from canon. So I'm keeping an open mind.

Have a great week, and please let me know if you find the yoga helpful with your anxiety. I've thought of trying that, too.

  30. I never could even use the phone anymore. Soooo... blah! I am playing Plants VS Zombies and solitaire a lot. I have been looking for a new game to play, even if I have to pay for it. So if you have suggestions I would love to hear them!

  31. Did you power your iPod on after it was wet? My husband thinks because after I dropped it and dried it off I powered it on to see if it was going to work and let electricity go through it. So that ruined it. I too of course enjoy episodes 3-6 in Star Wars. I didn't love episodes 1-3. I can watch them.. but I don't love them. I am sure I will do a big re-watch when the film comes out. I had to move my Yoga to next Monday. So I'll let you know for sure how it goes!

  32. Oh no, phone in the toilet sucks. I have done that it is horrible :( I have always wanted to go to a yoga class, I am always nervous about going though. Please let us know how it goes :)

  33. I didn't power my iPod on after I fished it out, but it was on when it fell in. I thought for sure I had fried it. You could try the rice thing and see if it works, but if you tried to turn it on while water was inside, it may be dead. :-(

  34. I'm enjoying FarmVille 2 Country Escape right now. You can play it offline too. It's so entertaining :)

  35. Love Farmville!! I did play it for a long time until I could enlarge my farm anymore. Then it was pointless to keep trying to build things.

  36. I've downloaded it just a couple of weeks ago and currently enjoying it :)
