Mini Summer Bloggiesta

The idea behind Bloggiesta is to spend these next two days working on perfecting your blog and connecting with other bloggers who are doing the same thing. Spread the word and get all your friends to come and fiesta with us!  If you haven’t heard about Bloggiesta before, it’s a weekend (July 19-20) where we all sit down to work on our blogs, do those things we keep putting off, as well as network and meet new bloggers and participate in challenges and giveaways. Definitely check it out, it’s a lot of fun!

I will update just this one post here so people don't keep seeing the same post over and over again.  So head here if you want to see my updates!  Here are my goals:

1. I do this every time.  I moderate two book clubs on goodreads (Stephen King Fans and the Young Adult Book Club) and I need to moderate all the posts that happen on there.  I need to read through each and every thread/topic and use this weekend to do it since it takes so long and I have to stay caught up on it. Done! It does take a while and this is a big chore. But it's done. Plus I got the polls ready for the next book club pick in each group.
2. Fix sidebar.  I have a new blog look and haven't really taken the time to fix up the sidebar yet.
3. Comment on blogs participating in Bloggiesta.
4. Participate in Challenges  - I have looked at all of them. I loved the social media etiquette.
5. Go through blogs I follow and stop following the ones that no longer blog, or that I don't stop by and visit. I really need to match up the blogs I follow on Bloglovin and GFC.  I kind of mixed them up and I want them to match.
6. Back up Blog
7. Get my interviews ready for Utah Book Blogger month.

This list always grows as I see other blogger's goals.  They usually give good ideas of what to do.

  3. Oh I don't think I'll have time this weekend to really participate in Bloggiesta, though I think I need to do most of the things you mention in this post! Especially clean up the blogs I follow on Bloglovin and GFC! But maybe at least I can attack that task soon. Good luck with your goals!

  6. I need to really match up GFC/Blogovin. I don't have the blogs matching and I want to. The only reason I set up a Bloglovin for my feed was incase GFC ever went away some day. Which is always the rumor.

  7. I've seen Bloggiesta around before but was usually too late to join. To participate do I just create my to-do list post and add my link to bloggiesta? I've been thinking of doing some blog maintenance this weekend so this sounds like a great idea =)

  8. Yes.. you just kind of come up with a to-do list and then there is a linky back on the Bloggiesta website. There are two big ones a year which have a lot more challenges during the event, the mini-one doesn't usually have as many. I go all out with blog maintenance during the main even and the mini events. It is pretty fun. You should sign up!

  9. You have a great list! I had to keep mine relatively short, but I wish I could tackle more!

  10. Good luck and I hope you get your list completed!

  11. You want the GFC and bloglovin blogs to match? LOL that's a bit of OCD showing thru right there. Unfollowing ones you don't visit or never visit you is probably a good idea I should do that.

  12. I know! I've kinda gotten away from GFC because of the rumors, but it just makes me feel untidy to think there might be so many blogs that I don't want to follow or are inactive in my feed! :) It's nice to neaten it up! I prefer using Bloglovin in general though - which feedreader do you usually use?

  13. I am probably going to get started tonight actually. It will be nice to get ahead a little.

  14. LOLOL! Well the GFC and bloglovin are pretty close to matching. There are a few that I didn't follow on both and I need to go through and find those... OCD OCD OCD OCD. hahahah!

  15. I normally use GFC actually. Though sometimes I will go over to Bloglovin. I don't even know why I use GFC more. Maybe because I am already in there editing posts and what not. The one thing I do like at Bloglovin more is that I can mark posts as read. THAT is really nice.

Have a great time with your mini Boggiesta!! I wish I had time to do it this weekend, but have been busy moving into a new place and unpacking. Maybe the next mini Bloggiest, I can participate?!?!

  18. I think the next Bloggiesta is a full one so that one is usually better anyways. You will have more fun and there will be more challenges.

  19. Wow. It must take a LOT of work moderating those two bookclubs on Goodreads! You go!

  20. I'm procrastinating on my list by visiting other blogs this morning! Congratulations on getting your time-consuming #1 done already!

  21. It can be a lot of work. And sad... no one there seems to know just how much work it is!

  22. I am surprised I got #1 done already. But I just sat there and did it and watched TV at the same time.
