Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Reader.

Hello!!  Summer is finally here where I am.  We have been so cold and there is actual sunshine now.  My keyboard on my laptop broke... certain keys stop working.  Annoying.  So I finally took it in and had the keyboard replaced.  We'll see if that is what the problem was.  I am hoping so otherwise the money spent on the keyboard is a total waste. My garden is in.. I planted it early May and of course it snowed, and the temps got below freezing, then a friend's dog came over and dug it up.  So I had to plant it again.  With no sunshine and constant rain it hasn't really grown at all.  So we'll see how the garden goes this summer.

I didn't have a lot of posts for a while there.  That is because I was totally addicted to playing a video game at night and wasn't making time for reading or blogging.  Right now I am reading Stephen King's The Shining with my mom and my sister.  It is a re-read for both my mom and I but my sister is reading it for the first time.  I can't wait to see what she thinks.  I'll just into Doctor Sleep as soon as I am done with the Shining!

I of course have a summer cold.  Can't wait for it to be over and done with. I didn't expect to get sick at all since I don't know anyone else who is sick.

  1. Summer is here too now, it got a bit warm but it's been raining for the past two days, off and on. So much for the weekend LOL. Nice post on the comic con, looks like fun! And Dragon Age looks fun too- is that a Bioware game? I've pretty much liked any game of their I've played, they do such a good job with RPG's.

That video is awesome! I had not heard of Kung Fury, but it looks hilarious. I cracked up when the video game told them to #$%^ off and came to life. I'll have to watch the whole thing... :)

  2. I've wanted to read The Shining for some time now but just the idea of it scares me so I've yet to try it. I'm such a wimp when it comes to horror movies and for some reason this book just seems like it will terrify me like a scary movie would. Ha! I hope you have a great week with a few good books :)

  4. Snow in May??? I do not like the sound of that. Hopefully your garden will do much better now that it's stopped snowing and hopefully no more dogs dig it up. Hope you feel better soon and have a great week!

  6. It's nice to see you around more! I've been reading quite a bit, but I need to sit down and write/schedule out reviews. That's always the hardest part! haha

  7. I got a summer cold too recently, didn't expect that. I'm sorry for your garden - and I'm sorry that I laughed while reading about it ! My youngest daughter intends on reading Carrie - I was wary but boyfriend said he started reading S. King when he was younger, so I might readit again with her. Glad you've got your keyboard back and that you abandoned your game to join us again ^^

  8. Ooh, what are you planting in your garden? Late frosts/snows are the dreaded thing, huh?
Everyone seems to be getting sick around now, but I suppose here in Australia it is going into Winter so that's hardly surprising. I've just been sick for 3 weeks and now have the beginnings of a cold yet again, so that's fun. I hope yours clears up and isn't a clinger-on. They're so annoying, those colds- though if you can get reading done, well that's okay! xx

  9. The internet and a couple facebook games have been keeping me from reading sometimes. Or watching tv. We finally have the summer temps, and have had a little break from rain last week. But it seems to be back this week.
    Check out my Sunday Post

  10. Dragon Age is a Bioware game!! I had so much fun with it. At night like this I miss playing it. Though I am getting more blogging done and reading. LOL! Kung Fury was a kickstarter project. I didn't expect it to actually get made ... but there it is in all it's glory. Just a goofy movie and fun!

  11. You know.. I never thought of it as terrifying until my friend tried to read it and didn't make it very far. Honestly I didn't think it was that scary. But everyone is scared of different things. I don't enjoy horror movies at all and will avoid them at all costs. But horror books are fun to me!

  12. I should post a picture of what it looks like now. I'll post it on next week's Sunday post. It is slowly coming in. Even after all the rain we've had it hasn't exactly taken off.

  13. I am feeling much better finally. I just can't stand having a cold. It is awful. It has stopped snowing.. woot!! My flowers out front are actually taking off too. It is one of my favorite parts of summer is when my flowers take off and start growing.

  14. The sun has finally been shining around here. It is so nice. I am hoping to go swimming soon. I was just in TX thinking I was going to get to go swimming and just never got a chance to get in the water. Such a bummer.

  16. I laughed when it happened too... I mean you just have to laugh sometimes. It was almost like the garden wasn't meant to be but I just kept making it happen. Carrie is super good too. I loved that book. I didn't think I was going to and then I read it with a bookclub and really thought it was great.

  17. I am planting pumpkins, green beans, peas, carrots, squash, peppers, watermelon.. and I think that's it. Half made it half didn't. By the time it was all done I spent $100 on plants. Ughhhhh. I was surprised I got sick. I think it was sinuses but I can't be sure. It went away in decent time. Though I am still draining.

  18. As far as handheld games go I love bejewled. It is addicting. If I am just sitting around I pull it out and start playing. Thinking about it right now makes me want to pull it out!!

  19. I'm hope you feel better. It is summer but the weather in California has been crazy. High 90's one day and then raining the next. I was just thinking I would get sick soon because of the drastic changes in our weather. I love Dragon Age so I'll have to check out your review. Have a great week!
