It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish! This week's topic is Top Ten Authors I've only read one book from but need to read more. There are quite a few authors I need to read more books from. I recently too all the books I had on hold at the library off hold and have been trying to just start over with a clean slate. It's been fun too.
First up The Frog Princess by ED Baker. I read this cute book for my Project Disney The Princess and the Frog. It is the first in a series and seriously it was a fun and wonderful book. I would love to finish this series.
Horns by Joe Hill. I also love his graphic novel series Locke and Key. So surprisingly I haven't read any of his other books yet. I do own NOS4A2 but just haven't made the time to read it.
I read A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and loved it so much. Plus all I hear about is people talking about how much they love Ness' books. I need to read another one!
Courtney Summer is another author I really enjoyed reading. I read Cracked Up to Be and thought it was great. I follow her on twitter and instagram and just enjoy her to much!
Next up... I love a comfortable mystery. I read Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen and loved it. It was a few years ago and I never continued in the series. I wish I had. So fun and good.
I read Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradly. I can't believe I have only read book 1 in this series. It was really good. I just never continued. More books just fell in the way. I noticed that I tend to put mysteries to the side.
Well... that's my list for now. It just makes me realize so many books so little time. What about you?? What's on your list?
I only read Ness, but not this book. I have it though so I'll read it soon I think. It's a short read so it should be done fast :D And I'm really excited since there's a movie coming out, too. ^^ReplyDelete
Really great list! Bittersweet and The Frog Princess sound like good ones to try. I've been wanting to read Joe Hill and Alan Bradly for awhile and just haven't yet. The Rhys Bowen series is cute. I read the 4th one earlier this year and have 5 thru 7 to get to eventually.ReplyDelete
OOh nice! Those are new to me authors and books! Except for the last one, that I know of, but haven't read!ReplyDelete
Here's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter was a lot of fun, I'm very glad I read it :)ReplyDelete
Here's my list. I've started doing them on YouTube as an experiment. Like and comment if you get a chance. :) http://youtu.be/I12_Yd-x2tM?list=UUP4Ao6fj3mLXHqOSSxyqh8w
I have yet to read any books by these authors! I have heard great things about Patrick Ness, so I'll probably start there. :)ReplyDelete
Excited to see The Frog Princess on this list. I own the first few and was really enjoying them. I haven't read any of Joe Hill's novels yet but I do really like Locke and Key too!ReplyDelete
I have a difficult time with authors who have series; sometimes you read the first and then just run out of time to continue! I'm currently reading Horns by Joe Hill and LOVING it. I def. hope to read more by him soon. I also want to read more by Courtney Summers. I've read and loved her novel This is Not a Test.ReplyDelete
I really liked Sarah Ockler's Twenty Boy Summer. It was so realistic.ReplyDelete
I didn't love The Knife of Never Letting Go (actually I disliked it) but I've been wanting to read A Monster Calls. I have Heart Shaped Box on my ereader and should get to that! And love that Flavia de Luce! :)ReplyDelete
I really want to give Horns a try, hopefully I can fit it in before the film comes out. I'm currently reading Dark Places, and I have Sharp Objects on deck. (Because apparently I treat my reading material like a baseball team. lol)ReplyDelete
I have not read any of these books! Or authors! I thought I had, but then I went back to recheck just now, since I read the post yesterday and couldn't remember for sure, and nope! Bittersweet was on my tbr at one point, but I ended up deciding the synopsis wasn't really my thing, and I didn't get more than halfway through A Monster Calls, unfortunately. There was just something about it that made it incredibly hard for me to keep going.ReplyDelete
I hope you find more excellent books by these authors!
I haven't read any of your list but most of them are on my TBR pile especially The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie! I keep seeing it but never get around to either getting it or reading it! So much to read first! Are you taking part in Bloggiesta this year? :DReplyDelete
Flavia de Luce was so fun. I just need to continue in this series. I really want to keep going. One of the things I need to do is stop reading along with my book club. It has made it to where I can't read what I want to read.ReplyDelete
Horns is great. I just really liked it. I might wait for the film to go to video before watching it though I am excited about it.ReplyDelete
A Monster Calls is not a book I would re-read. It was hard to get through.. meaning emotionally hard for me. Sad but powerful book to me. Bittersweet was really cute. It wasn't anything too series which is probably why I liked it. Sometimes that is what I am looking for.ReplyDelete
Did you get a chance to check out some of the lists? I hope so! Even if it is just little things that you wouldn't have thought of before it is a nice community spirit! I have to miss tomorrow but today i'll be working away!ReplyDelete
I need to read a Monster Calls, heard it is great!ReplyDelete
I still need to read Horns and A Monster Calls. I'm actually a little surprised that I haven't done so by now. I love Lady Georgie, but the way Guys Bowen treats gay men as buffoons and/or as stereotypes is starting to get on my nerves a bit.ReplyDelete
I read Pride and Prejudice and zombies by Grahame-Smith but did not finish it - maybe I was not in the mood, it was fun but nothing more. And out of character sometimes. I didn't know Alan Bradley's book was part of a series, I read other books by him and loved them :)ReplyDelete
It is great.. and made me really emotional. So it's kind of hard to read.ReplyDelete
Oh no!! I am bummed to hear about Guys Bowen. Ughh.. I don't know now if I want to continue in the series or not. I guess I will since I thought it was a nice good read. I just don't know why people can't be people and not be stereotyped.ReplyDelete
You know.. I never was really interested in reading Pride Prejudice and Zombies because I heard that the author took the exact words of Pride and Prejudice and just added some zombies in it. Where the Abraham Lincoln book was actually all new fiction. So... maybe that is what happened. You could try one of his other books????ReplyDelete
I'll see if I want to add them to the 300+ books already waiting on my e-reader ;)ReplyDelete
