Follow Me Friday

This is the day of the week where we get to know each other better by answering a question devised by our lovely hostesses Parajunkee & Alisoncanread  Thanks to those bloggers for hosting! Be sure to stop by their blogs to see the featured blogger of the week and to see the list of blogs who are also participating.   And now for this week's question....

Do you decide in advance what you are going to read for the following week or month??

I don't normal plan on what I am going to read because it's usually determined by what comes into the library.  I have to read those books before they are due back.  Recently though my reaing habbits have changed a little and I begun reading some of the books I already own. So... I have sort of been planning out my reading.  Right now I am reading the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini so I will be reading all four of those books.  I will say when I was getting all the books from the library it was just pushing the books I own further and further back on my TBR list.  So I am really glad to get back to reading some of the books I own.  What about you??

  1. The library is wonderful, but I defintely agree that reading your own books are even better. Plus you always get to keep them!
Thank you for stopping by. :)

  2. I don't follow any kind of plan either. Sometimes I am a book ahead, but not often. And I already follow you!

  3. I do have to keep some sort of schedule because of arcs, but I am not that good at sticking to it. :)

  4. Usually yeah I set aside some books that I feel need to get read next based on the review books I have and then lately I've been letting myself read whatever I want via audio book because I'm doing so much art lately I can't let that time go without also double utilizing with an audiobook and that's working out pretty well cause then sometimes I get sooo into it that I also want to read it in print so when i'm not listening i pick up in the print where the audio left off.

I do think i need to read more books I buy myself though.

  6. I'm a mood reader myself but if I have library books or a book with a review deadline then I will put that first.

    Here is my post.

    Have a great weekend.

  7. I do plan it out, yeah, although I often bump things around in queue. And like you say, if I read something that's part of a series and respond to it, sometimes that'll change my reading plans, as well. For example, I read Lonesome Dove a few months back and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to read all the sequels before getting back to the queue. Other times, too, shifting interests mean I'll bump books up or down.

  8. Haha I totally understand you when it come to scheduling books I want to read. Huge TBR-lists are the worst! But also books provided by publishers can sometimes be really difficult in my opinion. Certainly if the book has to be read in a week or two.

I'm a new follower, love your blog! Especially the header, it's beautiful.

  9. I have a hard time with my TBR list too! It won't stop growing! Haha! By the way, the lady who did your blog design is working on mine this month! I love it! :)

  10. I just avoid ARCs for that reason! I just have too many other books that I barely have time for. I always hear ARCs bring people to blogs ... so I hope that doesn't make people not want to follow my blog.

  11. I love your art so much. How neat that you can listen to audio books while creating your pieces. I wish I could create art.... I just am an observer of art. My vet has the most amazing cat art!! Every time I go in there I just look around in awe.

  12. Hello! I always check out your posts on Sunday when you join up in the Sunday Post... I always read library books first too. Which of course is why I hadn't requested any for a while now.

  13. That is how I have been feeling about the library. I have been putting off going there for books for a while now because I am trying to read the ones I bought... which of course I want to read since I bought them! LOL!

  14. I am really trying to get series read. I am going to make a big effort to not read any more series that don't have all the books out. Lonesome Dove is a series that I would be interested in. It just has appealed to so many people that I think it is something that I would enjoy too.

  15. I really try to make my TBR manageable. It is awful to think I might have like 100s of books to read. So I try to keep it down to like 20 that I really want to read. That way I feel that I can at least maybe finish my list.

  16. I just love what Stephanie did. Sometimes I want to buy another design just to see what else she would come up with for me!! Can't wait to see what she does for you too.

  17. I remember facing those challenges when borrowing books from the library, and you are so right, those books we eagerly purchase do tend to get tucked all the way down to the pile; it's discouraging at times :/

  18. A while ago, the library placed havok with my TBR pile as they got a load of new releases in and I had to have them all...right there and then!

  19. I don't plan out what I'm going to read either. Like you it depends on what audio books I can get from the library. I do have Mr Mercedes that I bought when it came out in hard cover. I don't get much time to sit down and read it so it has taken me months to make it almost half way.

  20. I can never stick to TBR books. :/ I just choose what I'm going to read based on my mood. I'm an old Bloglovin follower.

  21. I absolutely stick to a list schedule when I'm reading a series. I cannot read any other books until I've read each book in the order they are meant to be read in. It becomes a mission and I love doing it.

  22. I know!! We see that we need to hurry and read the library books by a certain date so then my books keep getting pushed further and further back. I am going to read my owned books before putting another book on hold at the library.

  23. It is soooo tough!! I just went to my libraries website and just skipped along. I just couldn't put anything on hold. In fact I should be reading right now and here I am blogging!

  24. My mom always buys Stephen King books right away too. I am trying to get back into reading a little bit more then what I have been the past few months. I really need to read more comics, those are what I am really behind in. I am hoping to get up a Comic Adventures post this week sometime!

  25. I too have to read a series in order. It would drive me bonkers if I read it out of order. Same with TV shows. I must watch them starting at season 1.
