This is the day of the week where we get to know each other better by answering a question devised by our lovely hostesses Parajunkee & Alisoncanread. Sounds like GFC is eventually going away.. so you may want to follow by email or bloglovin/feedly (I love both). And now for this week's question....
Q. If you could only have one book for the rest of your life. Don't cheat.. what would it be?
A. Wow! One book!! This is tough. I think I will pick The Stand by Stephen King. It is a long book (which is what I want if I am only allowed to pick one) and it is a good book. So there you have it! This picture is from the Stand graphic novel series covers.
What about you?
Stephen King is an amazing writer. Good choice.

I love the Stand also.. King's best book I think!
DeleteHopping through. I really need to read Stephen King. Some day.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
Some day needs to be today!
DeleteI have yet to read the Stand let alone the Graphic novels. I will someday but the page count is so daunting. I liked your reasoning.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of pages in the Stand.. and I mean A LOT. But once you start reading you will never notice.
DeleteLoved that movie. Nice pick!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend :)

I liked the Stand mini-series. But I don't know if I loved it. I would like to see a more modern version of the book.
DeleteI have yet to read a Stephen King. I really need to, I think I'd really like them. :)
ReplyDeleteMei @ Diary of a Fair Weather Diver
Most people really like king.. you should give it a shot.
DeleteHaven't read any Stephen King. Maybe some day.

Oy so sad to read that!!!
DeleteI tried thinking long books too! Went with an anthology but then thought it might cheating, so I picked another, but it was an anthology of short stories and still thought it was cheating. I did end up picking 1 novel though. But I think I cheated with my whole post!

I had to pick a really long book. I don't want one I could read in one day!

I haven't read Sparks... I am not sure if I would like his writing. I don't like crying or too romantic of stories.
DeleteI've always been scared to read a Stephen King book, But I loved the movie Rose Red and Green Mile so I am gonna have to try atleast one of his books out! Great choice though, I haven't heard anything bad about his writing!

Rose Red is a really good movie. It's been a long time since I've seen it but it was really good.
DeleteI've never read this but it looks interesting.-New GFC Follower :)

Thanks!
DeleteNever read this, and haven't really read anything by Stephen King - BUT I do have 2 or 3 of his books on my shelf waiting to be read. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. But great choice :)

At least you own some!!
DeleteI'm constantly wishing that The Stand hadn't been my first read by King. I think I would have liked it a lot more if I already had one or two of his books under my belt. I am looking forward to a re-read of it one day, though!
ReplyDeleteI had already read quite a few of his books before the Stand. So I understand what you mean!!
DeleteStephen King would be high on the list of books. I suppose having that length would be helpful. I might have picked The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss though.
ReplyDeleteI e-mailed PJ about these F&F things. I'm not technically a book blog though (probably closer to 33% than 50%), so not sure I qualify to take part. /shrug. Still like reading other people's answers.
PJ may not answer.. that is a busy busy blog. But I think so long as you can answer the question of the week she won't care if you participate.
DeleteThank you for the visit and follow. I'm already a follower of yours. And I'm glad you like Avalon's blog :)
ReplyDeleteLove Avalon!!!
DeleteI'm embarrassed to say I haven't read much from Stephen King D: I always keep meaning to and just keep forgetting.

Forgetting!! Well then you must get to the Stand!
DeleteGood answer. Still haven't read that one from King, but at 1300 pages about, it would take time to read and re-read. New bloglovin follower. My FF
ReplyDeleteOh yea.... it's a long long book!!
DeleteGreat choice! I haven't read that one before, but Stephen King is amazing. And some of his film adaptations from the books are my favorite movies.
ReplyDeleteAre you watching Under the Dome??? I am sure you are!! I am catching up on episodes right now while I blog!
DeleteI went for long too! I've never read the Stand, but that's because I DID read IT (didn't sleep for a few YEARS) and The Dead Zone (loved the creepy awesomeness). Old follower.

You know, I've never read this book, but I've seen the mini series quite a few times. I should add this to my Stephen King "NEED TO READ" list.
