Internet

Since the Super Bowl is this weekend (with my favorite team the Denver Broncos) thought I would share this funny video!

Books Books Books
I am actually reading my first indie book this week.  A guy who works with my mom wrote a book and she told him I have a blog and a group I moderate on goodreads so he passed it my way. It's called Niall and the Irish Pirates by Daniel DuffieldSince it's my first time reviewing a book like this I am a little nervous about talking about the things I don't like.  I also am going to read The Book of a thousand and one night for my Project Disney next week.

What about your week?  How is it going?

  1. The bad lip reading videos are too funny! And thank you for the links, as I missed several of those posts. Have a great week!

  2. I remember the first time I saw the bad lip reading video. I about died laughing. They do a really good job of matching up the lips to words.

  3. I was always a Hermione and Ron shipper. I can't even bring myself to read the article you posted. :)

  4. I am so mad about this... really Rowling is changing her mind about the relationships in the book?? I thought Hermione and Ron were perfect. Really it would change the entire series if Harry and Hermione ended up together!

  5. A Harry/Hermione relationship would be like George Lucas's remaster of "A New Hope" its just wrong.

I've always thought Ron and Hermione worked well off each other, they were an old married couple by the time they were twelve.

  6. LOL!! You are so right. You know that I never bought Star Wars on Bluray because I am so annoyed with the remaster!!! I refuse!!!!

  7. Will o the Wisp looks great, I'll have to look for it. Some good links there too, a couple I need to check out.

Harry and Hermione? Gaah! Surprised by that...

  8. Congrats on your team making it to Super Bowl. I'm still depressed about my Niners. I'll have to check out you post about teens and classics. Hope you have a good week.

  9. I know how you are feeling about the Niners. You just know your team should've made it. That's how I felt when the Broncos lost to the Ravens last year. We should've been in the Super Bowl last year. Thanks for stopping by!

  10. Yea I am surprised Rowling is back pedaling on her star characters. I mean really??? Now everything I know about Harry Potter is a lie!! ;)

  11. Ha, I love the video and yes I think reviewing a book for a friend would be super hard..Be honest and fair, highlight the good and the bad. Balance is the key. Good luck and have a wonderful week :)

  12. Thanks for visiting my haul post.

Great review for Hollow City. I've been looking forward to this book, so I can buy it in the knowledge that it's liked.

I must admit that as a Fanboy, I do talk to Fangirls and it's great when Fangirls get all excited about something. (As a Fanboy, I can also say guilty as charged on the excitement thing).

As for the Harry/Hermione thing... NO!!!! The reason why Ron and Hermione work are because they are complete polar opposites. Hermione knows a lot from books, which helps Harry and Ron, whilst Ron is the steadfast best friend who's more "try and hope". (Goes off into a corner mumbling "Harry and Hermione.... Nonononononononononooooo.)

  13. I love the bad lip reading vids and the epic rap battles of history even though some are a little bit crude.

  14. It's extra hard reviewing a book when you have a connection to the author I think. I always just try to remember what they want is constructive criticism but it's HARD!
And that JK bombshell has blown my mind since I read about it :O Nooooo!

  15. Wow I don't know how to feel about this. I admit around half way I wanted it to be Harry and Hermione, but know that everything is said and done I can't imagine her with anyone but Ron.

  16. It's a little hard. I mean... I finished and reviewed the book last night and I feel good about it. It was still difficult. I mean it's different when you think the author will never read your review.... plus it's not like you ever see that author face to face either.

  17. I love the epic rap battles too!! Hilarious. I love all funny videos but that's just me.

  18. My husband is a fanboy!!! LOL!! I mean... he will camp out for days for a movie. LOTR, Superman.... Harry Potter. Sometimes I am even like... AYE you fanboy too much.

You comment is hilarious about Harry/Hermione. I mean just ruin the whole series for me why don't you Rowling! ERRRRRrrrrrr

  19. Ha! Love the lip reading video! I hadn't seen this new one yet. "Yeah, I said 'Voldemort.'"

And I don't even know what I think about the whole Harry Potter thing. I suppose everyone's entitled to an opinion and to make that opinion known... but on the other hand it seems pretty stupid to potentially change the way that people will read your books. (Of course it doesn't matter too much to me since I just pretend the epilogue doesn't exist anyway... it was too "cutesy" for me.)

  20. Oh gosh, she should have never said that about Ron, sad day. I have made peace with series, lol

  21. Enjoy whe Super Bowl & I hope your team wins!

  22. Happy Reading! If you'd like, you can stop by my STS Following your blog and would love a follow back please :-)

  23. It is hard... I hope I wrote it well. One of the reasons I don't like reviewing indie books is because authors get mad at people and that's when all the drama can happen. No drama here!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't like the idea of Harry and Hermione together. I never did. They just had too much of a brother/sister relationship. I think Ron and Hermione make sense. For Harry, I always wanted him to be with Luna. :)

  25. I know... it's like all my Harry Potter love went out the window. I just don't like this at all.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I know... I don't keep my emails from all the book requests I get. But it did make me think about it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yea... now when I read the book I am going to be thinking um... I just talked to my husband about it and told him I was upset about it. If that is how it was supposed to be why didn't she write it that way. He said... an author can't control that. I said what? He's like... the story writes itself. I just rolled my eyes.

  28. I know poor Ron! I just don't even know what to say!

  29. See ..... I know... I was happy to see a guy and girl on screen who could just be friends. No love interest. Though I did think they were a little "close". And now I know why.

  30. I'm reading Miss Peregrine's this week! I hope I like them, because Hollow City looks aaaamazing. :) Good luck with your review of the indie book! I feel nervous reading indie books, not because I doubt if they're good or not, but I don't like giving negative reviews and having to send feedback to the author! I'd rather borrow from the library. Definitely safe that way. XD Thanks for stopping by my STS!

  31. ME TOO! I feel the same way. I don't love to review books from authors who are needing your review to be good.

  32. Have a great reading week!

    Here is my Sunday Post.

  33. LOL! most boring Super Bowl ever. And embarrassing. Broncos are lucky I have liked them my whole life or I would've dumped them on the spot. At least half time was good!
