Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged, and Stacking the Shelves

On the Blog:
I am going to be apart of Instalove 101! Be on the look out for my post (well it's not till Feb 19th but I still can't wait to write it up!)
I review my first indie , self published book which I enjoyed.. Niall and the Irish Pirates by Dainel Duffield.
I sink my teeth into the novel S. by JJ Abrams (yes the Star Trek guy!)
Issue #4 of Comic Adventures is out! Batman, Catwoman, Nightwing, and Aquaman are all included this issue.
A new Project Disney this week!  Aladdin VS Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp.

Around the Blogospere:
Blind Date with a book is sooo clever.  CLEVER!!  Great Imaginations (they are always doing neat stuff) is giving away a blind date to you!  Valentines Day can be so fun on the blogs!
Armchair BEA really needs some help this year with volunteers for the event.
Book Addict's Guide did a survey on how bloggers use social media and has a lot of neat charts about it.
It's almost time for the Secret Book Blogger Valentine's Day card exchange!
The Daily Prophecy talks about her Blogging Methods and they practically mirror mine.

Internet:
I love the DC animated movies that have been coming out lately.  I really can't wait for this one:

Books, Books Books,

Not a lot of books this week from the library... I am so glad about that.  I can finish what I am reading.  I do have a lot of graphic novels to get caught up on.  I did read Blog Design for Dummies and thought it was OK.  It didn't have as much information as I would've liked for those of us using blogger.  It was more for Wordpress users.  So if you use Wordpress you should check it out:

What about you this week??  What's going on in your world??

  1. I am finally getting a copy of S from the library. Someone finally decided to return their copy, so I think I will get it sometime tomorrow or Monday! :)

  5. Thanks for sharing the posts, I am off to read them and hope you have a wonderful week. Bummer that the Blog Design was only geared towards WordPress users,

  6. So wish I had a Wordpress blog. LOL!! I hope that Armchair BEA is fun this year--it's such a great way to meet folks. Is that how I connected with you or was that through bloggiesta? I forget but still lots of fun. Hope you have a great week Angie! Oh--and how are you liking Disqus?

  9. I've heard some good things about S, although it sounds like a little effort is required to get the full experience. I'm curious though... The Aquaman stuff from DC looks pretty good too. I'll be checking out some of those links as well. Have a fab week!

  10. I found that lots of the 'blogging guides' on Kindle are for Wordpress as well. all the posts from Around the Blogosphere are very interesting.

  12. Hmm... I have WP, maybe I should see if my library has that book. It sucks that it isn't generalized for all platforms though.

  13. It was kind of a bummer actually. I thought there would be more coding on there for Blogger but there wasn't. I have been looking for a new blog design for a while to change things up so hopefully soon I find something.

  14. I wish I had a wordpress blog too. But it costs about $100 to switch over (if I don't do it) and you know I am just not up to paying that for a blog that doesn't have thousands of readers and doesn't bring in any income. I just do it for fun so I'll stick with what I have.

Honestly I like Disqus a lot. I didn't think I would at first but I do. Most large websites use it too for their commenting systems so it stays pretty updated. Plus I have noticed a large jump in the people who come back and read the replies!

I hope Armchair BEA is fun too. I would volunteer but the projects they need help on I think might be out of my area of expertise. I can't wait though to join in.

  15. Sorry the design book wasn't focused more toward blogger. You'd think the title would specify wordpress. I'm on blogger too, so it would be nice to have some tips!

  17. I am comfortable at Blogger too. I do have a few issues with it... my preview button just stopped working. But otherwise I am happy with it and it's free!!

  18. You're motivated for even tackling a 'for dummies' book. I should try to be more proactive in the bloggy stuff but ehh I hate reading informative instruction manuals and the like.

  19. You guys have a great layout on your blog. It is one of the things that first drew me to it. It is a clean layout and I love it so much!!

  20. Ooh I may need to check out Blog Design for Dummies. Thankfully I'm pretty much set on my blog design, since I'm graphically challenged, but still it'd be nice to understand more.

And thanks for the links - I have a few posts to check out! Hope you're having a good week!

  21. Thank you for stopping by!! Blog design for Dummies was also more for... maybe newer bloggers. It gives a lot of tips about side bars and stuff. Plus headers but I will NEVER create my own header so that wasn't helpful to me.
