Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other
blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!
I link up my post to Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves.
This week has been a good week. I have caught up on all the graphic novels that I needed to read. This week I even tried out Archery. I've been watching Green Arrow for one thing .. so I have been wanting to give it a go. Plus I love to try new things!! I also added my instagram button to the blog.
On the Blog:
-I host my first reading challenge with Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge.
-I review the Before Watchmen comics.
-Cocktails based on books??? Yes please.... Tequila Mockingbird.
-I show you pictures of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon Pop-Up book by Stephen King.
-There is a new Project Disney this week.. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Who knew there are two Disney Pooh feature films???
Around the Blogospere:
-I am going to actually participate in the Dewey 24 hour readathon this time around. I mean... it's a little crazy but I am going to do it!
-Herding Cats & Burning Soup is hosting a Support the Troops bookish event on her blog. Really you should check it out. Both my father and husband served in the military. Participate if you can!
-Pretty Little Reader talks about book reviewing and the tweeting it to the author. Do you do this? Do you think it's good etiquette?
-This Choose Your Own Adventure post is fun from Oh The Books.
Internet:
Have you seen Stephen King using Twitter??? He's the best!
Books Books Books:
I am actually read a book I own this week. Cinder by Marissa Meyers. I am finishing up Infinite by Jodi Meadows. I have requested Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor from the library so I am hoping they get it soon.
Don't forget to sign up for the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge!
Love Stephen King fans!!
ReplyDeleteArchery, how cool. I have not watched Green Arrow but I'm tempted to give it a shot. I've heard they bring stuff from the comics in, and I like that even though I don't know much of the DC stuff.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I've always had a soft spot for the Pooh movies (the originals) so I'll be checking that post out! And great video of King tweeting- too funny!
King could tweet from a rock and it would be OK! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI found that Archery was really not as hard as I thought it was going to be. I got it on the target paper area several times. I thought the arrow was going to go to the moon so I impressed myself.
LOL Tequila Mockingbird! Very... punny?
ReplyDelete24 hour read-a-thon sounds really good only I don't think I could do it with my classes and everything. Hope you'll have fun. Also I'm glad you've read Cinder :) Great post :)
ReplyDeleteHere is our Sunday Post
Ooo archery! Fun! I've always wanted to give that a go but so intimidating!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out for the military event :)
That video of Stephen King tweeting is so funny! 24 hour read-a-thon sounds crazy..... crazy fun! lol. I hope you have a great week! :D My Sunday Post
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the Support The Troops Bookish Event, my son is waiting to see if he can join the Air Force (as a technician).
ReplyDeleteI know Stephen King's son had been on Twitter for a long time, great to see him now as well. If I tag him often enough, do you think he'll follow me LOL
Thanks for stopping by.
Oh nice! I gave Cinder a try just before the second one came out. But I couldn't get into it sadly. I wanted to so bad, but it just wasn't for me. Hope you enjoy it much more than me! And that you enjoy your other reads you got too!
ReplyDeleteHere's my STS
Have a GREAT
day!
Old Follower :)
I have yet to participate in the Dewey's Read-a-Thon, but I plan to do so this year. Tequila Mockingbird made me smile....thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHere's
MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
THAT Stephen King video!!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm watching Arrow too! <3 Have yet seen the last ep? Because OMG, can't wait to see what happens next. (and I think someone will die soon....)
I have Dreams on request at the library too - cannot wait to get it!
ReplyDeleteMissie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
That book looks so cool, Angela. I loved that your review included pictures! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteOh the readathon is so so so much fun. One of these days it'll work out that I'll be able to participate again. It seems to always fall on my daughter's birthday weekend and the October month seems to be just as busy. You'll have a blast.
ReplyDeleteAnd real live archery?! I'd love to get into this but don't have the time right now. I think it would be fun to learn how to do it with my daughters. Hope you're having a GREAT weekend Angie!
I read that Pretty Little Reader post and think that David guy is an idiot. In fact, he made me "feel all wrong inside" as if I had given a child an innocent hug and people accused me of inappropriate touching.
ReplyDeleteI need to go watch the King video for something to laugh at.
I've read a bit this week; mostly graphic novels, as they move a bit quicker! :)
ReplyDeletelauren from www.shootingstarsmag.blogspot.com
I know!! It's great!!!
ReplyDeleteI always love reviews that include pictures for books that really are all about the pictures. I think it helps people get a better idea of what the book really is like!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to try out the 24 hours! I probably won't make it all the way. In fact I am sure about that. But I want to get as late as I can!
ReplyDeleteI was intimidated at first. But I just got my courage together and stepped up and got started. It was fun and I enjoyed it sooooo much!
ReplyDeleteStephen King is just hilarious! Love his sense of humor!!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope your son gets in the Air Force! My dad and husband served in the AF. What a great branch of service.
ReplyDeleteStephen King just needs to follow all his fans. ;)
Oh wow... first time I have heard someone say they dislike Cinder. So I will have to see how it goes. Thanks for stopping by this week.
ReplyDeleteI am really hoping to get ahead with 24 hours of reading. I really need it!!
ReplyDeleteI am loving Arrow so much. Suicide Squad?? Yes please!! I loved the little Harley Quinn cameo too. Now we just need them to throw in a little Batman and life will be good.
ReplyDeleteEEK! Hurry libraries!
ReplyDeleteReally I thought Archery was mainly for boys. I thought there was no way I was going to be able to pull back that string. The first bow I used I actually wasn't strong enough to pull back the string. But then the next bow I did really well. I do think you should teach your daughters. Why not? I love to be knowledgeable about everything. Now when someone starts to talk to me about archery I will know much more then I knew before.
ReplyDeleteI know right?? I mean... I have like 700 goodreads friend requests and you know what there is no way I could keep up with that many friends on there and I just ignore them. Yea I feel bad like he does but sometimes you just have to only do what you are capable of.
ReplyDeleteThat Lauren.. is another reason I love graphic novels sooooo much!!
ReplyDeleteGreat week wrap up. I am excited about Clean Sweep :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I'm going to fit in Dewey's readathon what with finals right around the corner, but I signed up right away because I really do love this readathon. It motivates me so much. I'm hoping to pick out some short books during the readathon, but I have been more interested in long books lately so I will most likely be reading a longer book that day.
ReplyDeleteGreat!! I am so glad you will be joining us!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Dewey's readathon too. I have never participated so I plan on getting busy and getting a lot done. I need to get ahead!
ReplyDeleteYES!! I am really looking forward to it. Is it only once a year??
ReplyDeleteApril & October! So twice a year we get to read our butts off and then sleep for the rest of the weekend! ;)
