Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves.

Announcement:
I am going to be co-hosting my first readathon this May!! I will be co-hosting with Kimba from the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge. ARC's for challenge can be any books you have received from publisher, author etc. Even if they are already released. We need a few Challenge hosts for the event... would you be willing to host one?  You do need to have a giveaway with it but it can be as little as a $5 bookish gift. If you would be willing to help out please let me or Kimba know.  Even if you haven't hosted a challenge before you and I could be new at things together.  Spreading the word about Challenge hosts would be a big help too!!  The main post will go up on the 1st of April.

On the Blog:
I talk about the new Divergent Movie.
Bloggiesta has me busy!  Challenges, chats, and of course I got a lot done on the blog. Check out my progress.
I talk about what I LIKE about your blog.
I do a Ten Ten Tuesday list about my bookish bucket list.... including a bookish tattoo.
A new video game review! WOOT WOOT This time around I chat about the new South Park Stick of Truth game.

Around the Blogospere:
Buzzfeed has a new poll.. which kind of book are you?? I got second hand book!
A fun little challenge in April hosted by Parkajunkie.  Looks like a lot of fun!
Do you like cliffhangers?? Reading and writing urban fantasy wants to know.
I love these posts by Bookish Whimsy.  She talks about really where things in reading started. She has already done a post about the first libraries and this week we get to read about the origin of book marks.
Ten Things NOT to say to a Stephen King Fan by the blog Talk Stephen King.  Love this!

Internet:
I love this Arnold skit!  I mean if you don't love Arnold then I just don't know what to tell you.  Plus Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show has been really really fun.  You should also check out the video of Kevin Bacon dancing his Footlose dance on the show.  Kevin Bacon doesn't age.  Well .. now to Arnold!

Books Books Books:
This week was another slow week at the library which is fabulous!  I about about to start Cinder by Marissa Meyer for my book club's read in April. Looking forward to finally reading that series.   What about you??  What's happening in your world?

  27. Oh I look forward to reading more about the Clean Sweep challenge! I haven't too many ARCs to read at the moment, but I will also go to Netgalley and pick up a few (like I saw you mentioned in a comment). Thank you so much for the mention of The Refined Reader! I'm so glad you are liking the feature so far! :)

And so looking forward to your thoughts on Cinder!!

  29. I was super excited to see the read-a-thon you're co-hosting. I need to do my signup post, but I am so in for this one! I need to get caught up on my ARCs and this will be great motivation!

Check out my Sunday Post and my current giveaways!

  30. Good luck with your first read-a-thon hosting gig! I don't do very well with read-a-thons for some reason, but will be cheering you on! :)

  31. Oh man, I'd love to help with this but April is the busiest month in the college semester. Keep in mind for the next one you do!

Also, I'm getting ready to read Cinder too. I hope it lives up to the high expectations I've placed on it. lol.

  32. I personally always loved Arnold (grrrr, he did screw up with Maria, though!!!). I already told Kim I sooooo need the ARC challenge!!! I'll be a champion at that (hopefully!).

BTW - I lurve your "I freaking love my library" button!!! I do too :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I can't take credit for the button for the challenge.. my co-host Kimba is the one who created it! It is really good.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thank you!! This is a month long readathon. It really is just to clear your shelves of older books that you were supposed to review.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love that so many people are reading Cinder... must mean it's a good book. I don't really see people talk bad about the book.

    ReplyDelete
  36. OK... that thing with Maria... whoa. I was like shocked. Especially since the lady wasn't some model or something. I would expect that from a married man.

    LIBRARIES! Fangirling over here!

  37. Congrats on the upcoming hosting. Hope you have a great week ahead.
